He doesn't know what he's doing, but he's big, mobile and tries hard.
I’d love to agree, I really would. Bol Bol would be so incredibly fun to turn into something useful for us. But he is so insanely slow at dribbling and getting open it seems he can’t create any space to shoot. All that great shooting in the offseason videos and if there is a defender in the same state he can’t seem to get a shot up.
Again, I really hope I’m wrong but I’m visibly wincing when I watch him play this game. Bamba, low motor and all, at least is producing an impact on the game at times.
This is all just to say the least surprising thing: seems like Bamba is a backup and Bol Bol is likely out of the league unless something major switches with him.

Oh don't get me wrong, Bol stinks.
I just like that he's tried to contest some shots on the perimeter and has tried to go after some rebounds.

Okeke does not look good at all so far. Needs a boost of aggressiveness.

Paulo obviously has a lot to learn at this level but you can see he's going to be a very good player.
I think the problem for Paolo tonight was he made his very first shot which was also the first made basket of the game all within the first 20 seconds of the game. I think he got a big head after that.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

The players may be rusty but we are all in midseason form.

We allowed 44 points in the paint, I thought it was more.

We are so far behind a team like Memphis. Even without Ja their roster is stacked with productive players that get the concept.

Pray that JI can actually stay healthy. Just having him out there would be a massive improvement.

Is there supposed to be a Magic broadcast of this game?
Last year, League Pass let me choose our broadcasters or the other team's.
Tonight I'm only getting the Memphis broadcasters.

They aren't even that talented. The roster is just constructed perfectly and they are extremely well coached.

He's been here what 5 years now? We knew this except the fans that convincing themselves he'll turn into something at some point. I think Bamba works on a team like Memphis that is stacked and he is not asked to do a whole lot, not the case here.neuraldarwinism wrote:bamba, not good

Typically that will be the case but there is no Orlando broadcast for any away preseason games.

Mo Wagner looking much improved so far. I wonder if his brothers success last season lit a fire under him. He has looked like the best big man on the floor tonight.

It didn’t seem that way at all. Steven Adams was guarding Paolo and made it difficult for him. He was very much passive and settled for his midrange shots that weren’t going in. Right before half time he started going to the basket and then was just as passive coming into the 3rd quarter. He seemed frustrated. Oh yeah, he can’t keep 3s in front of him but I think his conditioning and processing will come with time.
Welcome to the NBA where you are no longer the tallest or fastest. But I really do trust in his skill. He’ll be alright once he settles in and find his spots. I really do believe in this kid.
