Agreed. This is a draft where we can really cure our banger big man problem. DJ White, DeVon Hardin...this would be a good year not to mess up the draft.

You def have to think that Presti is gonna choose his mentors over us thats for sure. Otis prob was hesitant to give up a pick too though. Thomas is very good player. Great defender and rebounder. He would help alot. Once he was gone looks like we had nothing else going.

Kurt Thomas would have been nice, but he is neither a great defender or rebounder. Solid at both, but not great or even very good.

My beef isn't that we didn't get our coveted big man, I can't speak for the others, its that we didn't improve the starting roster. I was always in favor of getting a decent sg because its easier to obtain, but I would have been happy still to get a starting pf just the same. The point for me is that we failed to use our assets when they were at their maximum value, when we need at least two more starters. Seeing some of the deals this year, I believe we could have gotten something that would have improved our team. Being infatuated with a fourth string sg is not a good enough reason to not do a deal imo. I'm not calling for Otis' head however, but I still believe it was a bungle.

weis brought in hedo as well... hedo, battie, dwight, and nelson..otis has a future long term plan

Ok well be fair to Otis, he was Weis assistant and he pushed for Dwight, Jameer, Hedo. Weis had the final say so but Otis was a big part of the decision making process and talent evaluation.

Trade is a settling machine. He's always happy with what we have.
In the deadline where everyone was trading their players and their mothers, we failed to make one damn move. Fire him, he's had the blessing of great salary cap space, a superstar, and great trading assets, but he settles with being good while others strive to be great.
Edited - Dont mitigate the swear filter please

Well I've said before that IMO Otis thinks like a former player. One of those players that always thinks there team has the tools to win it all now. Instead of making tough trades he rather stan pack. The scary thing now is he doesn't have the assets to make a blockbuster in the future. If you like the team now then don't expect much change. My bet the only move this summer is using the MLE on a SG.

so if we try to improve in the future, will our only tradeable assets be hedo that has any value?
