Man those were some dark times.

He got pressured by management so felt he needed to do something and he did his former boss at the time now current boss a favor...

I always said I had no problem trading Dipo, it was the return we got back was idiotic, including the Sabonis draft pick was negligence. Now it feels like he was buttering up to his former boss thinking his time was coming up soon...

The win now moves are what scares me especially since Weltman knows he has to do something. My goodness I hope they’re praying and scouting and using all the data in their arsenal to make the right moves.

Exactly what I’ve been thinking today. We talk a lot about many different options to make us better but I hope Weltman can sit down use his long term vision, correctly sort through the right data to find the right pieces to this team.

I know I’ve been outspoken in the past, specifically not making moves at the deadline, about firing him but I will point out his strength is patience which is a good one. Don’t make a desperate move. He has to get aggressive now but most importantly he has to make the right one.

I will seriously pull an Xatticus if they trade Suggs for non all-nba player.

Would you trade him for Garland?

Never made an all-NBA, but is a 2x all-star.

Going back to the Oladipo thing...

Essentially the Magic chose Fournier over Oladipo as their SG of the present and future. A somewhat defensible decision in a vacuum as Fournier was a much better shooter.

And at that time Oladipo certainly wasn't the Oladipo he would become two years later in Indiana.

But it was still a poor trade because Ibaka was an unrestricted free agent to be and also very much already on a serious decline defensively. It only took about 5-10 games for anyone with a pair of eyes to realize Ibaka was essentially unable to play PF next to a center anymore and should be playing center himself, but they already had Vucevic *and* had just signed Biyombo to a big contract as well.

We all love Suggs but they're sure not getting an All-NBA player back unless there's a bag of picks attached

This is just a me thing, but because of Suggs pedigree, I feel like his growth is what can lead this team to a championship. Him and Paolo are on par with winning in high schools in both football and basketball, but I feel like Suggs has the mindset. He was almost won it in college. We really need him to improve.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.-John 3:16

Go Magic, Go Dwight, Go Vuc, Go Paolo, Go Keegan :)

Maybe… you might think I’m crazy but I’m not 100% sure. The main reason why I would consider it is Suggs’ availability… but Garland isn’t the best at that either even though he did play 75 games this year.

I wouldn’t deny that we would need to add more to get an all-nba player back. That seemed like a given and didn’t need to be said.

if they're even looking to trade Suggs I'd rather empty the assets pool for Booker
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

An interesting Knicks win as it is how Orlando is built: dominate rebounding and TO differential. Score a lot on two's. Suck at threes. But get the W.

i mean, Suggs isnt an all-nba player and cant stay healthy. something has to give at some point. will he be another Isaac? always potential but never fulfilled.

Suggs is a rollplayer not even a fringe allstar type player yet. Pretty much all his advance stats say he is a slightly positive impact player. He is a very good defender but a below average offensive player who got big limitations skillwise for his position. He got big avaiability problems & is a athletic abilty diminishing injury waiting to happen. Even one of his best traits is much less worth in the playoffs. Intensity, because everyone plays with intensity in the playoffs. They showed they can play top 3 defense without him too.

I love Suggs. He is my second favorite player on the team but the Magic pink glasses are again ultra strong on this board. The reality is that Suggs isnt really that good yet. The reality is that he is a bad fit next to the forwards because of the overlapping weaknesses.

This is pretty much where I'm at as well.

I love Suggs too. My preference would be to NOT trade him, but I'm also not letting him stand in the way of acquiring a all-star PG either.

This is where I'm at, minus the bit about loving Suggs. I find his schtick to be incredibly irritating.

I'd explore all kinds of variations with present and future draft picks...but, if Suggs was the only way - I'd sadly pull the trigger for a great fit.

*AND then I'd be looking real hard at AB (and eyriq) and say "don't embarass me kid - I'm rolling with you"
