I've been a Smart guy this NCAA season, my head still says Smart, but man has Burke made an impression with me.
He is a winner, plays hard. I do worry about him being knocked around in the NBA, kind of like TJ Ford. (I know TJ had an existing issue).

Still leaning towards Smart, wouldn't be upset with Burke.

My head is trying to tell me it's Burke. My gut (based on what i SEE when breaking down their game) tells me McCollum.

I'm still on the Burke train....

I almost wish he had a horrible tourney and stayed around 12-20 as far as predictions. I was saying that we should trade down our first this whole time and take him at 20-25 or so. Of course he had a great tourney so now he's being predicted at 7..... damn lol

To trade down someone has to want to trade up, any candidates for that?

If we don't select a PG in Rd. 1, I'd be totally cool with picking up Ray McCallum in the 2nd (NBADraft.net has him at pick #56).

Except, Deron Williams was an elite passer at Illinois. Without the threat of a pass, this kid is definitely not better than Erick Green.

He's definitely not better then Erik Green? Are you serious?

I'm all for CJ, I've been on this bandwagon all season. I think he would transition well into the NBA has decent handles, a nice shot, and the way players can space the floor in the NBA who could be an exceptional passer.

One guy averages 25-4-4 leads the nation in scoring while getting to the line at will against the ACC while the other averages 25-5-3 in the Patriot league and misses most of the year due to injury. I think I prefer the ACC guy if we're just talking scoring guards.

Can you honestly tell which one is which?

TJ Ford had speed and quickness.

If we don't go PG with our first pick (hoping for Noel), I'd like to get Siva later on. I don't watch him regularly, but I've seen him a few times, and the guy always finds a way to stand out. Can see him being great backup PG at the least.

I concur. Erick being from my hometown, I got to play some games with him. He's underrated on a lot of draft boards. He can flat out play.

They have the exact same scouting report. Same size, same, age, same pros and cons. One was injured all year while the other played in the ACC leading the country in scoring while every defense was geared to stop him. Guess which one is projected to be a lottery pick and which is supposed to go undrafted.

If you have talent then that's all that matters really,I mean lillard played at weber state small school somewhere out there in Utah. Part of the reason why c.j is more highly regarded in comparison to green is because he was labeled a giant killer when he single handedly knocked duke out of the tourney. That put him on the map

I'm not crapping on the competition in the Patriot League. Just saying that great tournament play is what gets guys like Jimmer Fredette drafted in the top ten while Isaiah Thomas drops to the last pick of the draft. If Lehigh played Duke in a 7 game series, I'm sure it would have turned out like our playoff matchup with the Pacers last year. When I look at these guys I see them as roughly equal, except one was injured all year.

I agree the kid is underated on draft boards, and i agree he is very good and skilled. But to me whenever i watched him play (a lot early/i was intrigued by him leading NCAA in scoring) his game comes off as not being very compatible to playing winning offensive basketball.

It is not the number of shots he takes, it is the way he uses so much time dribbling and dancing around for SO LONG with the ball looking to get his shot off or before he decides to pass it.

That type of game especially from your PG absolutely destroys a teams flow offensively.

He just didn't seem to play with with sudden decisiveness. You got to make something happen right away or pass it and keep the ball moving. Either make your offensive move or move the ball.

His style of play (when he is on ball, not off ball) is the type of game that gets your team standing around and watching.
