2 games -5-29 from the floor, guy has floaters blocked because he is too small and literally can't jump over paper.

I'm on tweeter and there are like 10 new tweets per second where people point out how beyond terrible he looks so it's not just me (i don't tweet anything , i just read  )

For his sake , he should pray so hard that Schroder is starting PG on opening night to take pressure off him ,maybe spend
some time in G league in rookie year because if he gets out there from day one as starter he will be destroyed, teams will just roll over him.

And this is G league level of competition and he looks like somebody who simply can't get his shots off because lenght bothers him ,that won't get any better in regular season.
Maybe play him as off ball guard ? Spot up shooter?

I think you’re overreacting. In both games he adjusted and had a good second half. Everyone always talks about PGs taking longer to develop but can’t give this guy more than a summer league to figure it out because they want him to fail. Pretty sad

I don't think anyone wanted to see him fail. It could be the exact opposite that 80% of this board wanted to draft him and wrote thousands of posts about how special he was. Now the 80% is looking for any glimmer of light about his performances, even though his performances have been worse than even the 20% that didn't want to draft him could imagine.

Searching for a glimmer of hope...what? We’re simply discussing SUMMER LEAGUE games.
I think the comments thus far have actually been pretty fair, pointing out aspects of his games that were good and bad.

Well I think you get my point about Magic fans having so much time invested in Trae that it might take time to get over him possibly not being that superstar that they imagined.

it would be interesting to see what percentage of Magic fans would draft Trae over Bamba righ now.

0:23 has bigger guy on switch, just bombs bad shot over him
0:38 can't beat up his man off dribble, settles for pull up
0:47 same story, can't beat man off dribble , gets blocked ( would miss even if shot wasn't blocked )
0:59 finally gets first step on defender, still doesn't have strenght in legs to convert, minimal jump
1:16 for 3rd time in first half he can't beat man off dribble or shake off him, despite having , on paper- missmatch , runs inside paint and throws horrendus pass
1:29 has man on his back, again doesn't even jump when shoots, gets blocked again
1:55 beats Spurs white-blonde guy off dribble, has center waiting for him, takes 3 two steps over the line for no good reason
2:14 pretty poor shot selection in traffic, but this time it goes in
2:30 gets FTs on shot that was still blocked ( kind a bailout call )
2:35 again can't beat his man off dribble
2:40 shakes big guy ,has layup still can't finish because lenght of his man bothers him
3:03 another floater where he thinks he can shoot without jumping - blocked
3:54 even when nobody stands around him he still makes life harder than it should be for him, taking longer 3, luckly ball bounces back to him
4:30 finally figures you can't make floater without jumping

On other side Derrick White looked solid, played within himself and knows what he can do. 21 points, 9 assists.

Main problem with Young is fact that game is too fast for him and he isn't big ,fast or athletic enough to catch it up.
He simply lacks nba level explossivnes to blow pass defenders and he has no other option but to shoot contested, long shots. Where IT goes at rim being bulky and knowing how to protect ball with his body ( also being faster and way better athlete in general ) Young simply lacks hoops to elevate high enough to do anything. He bearly jumps in league where averge size of guy is 6'7, and he is like 6'1.

If he can't adjust and find ways to contribute Hawks trading him for Doncic might be one of that ESPN 30/30 storie where Lakers traded Kobe or Pistons took Darko.

With Briscoe now signed, just came to the realization that there's a great chance that every single player in the Magic's Summer League starting lineup is going to be on the opening night roster.

G: Briscoe
G: Frazier
F: Iwundu
F: Isaac
C: Bamba

Plus Birch off the bench.

Ok cool, looking forward to summer league. Usually can't take too much from it, but you usually find out pretty quickly who can't play. If you're struggling against these kind of opponents then you got a lot of work to do.

There would be pitchforks and some posters demanding we blow it up for a #1 pick!

Looks like the Lakers got studs again! Last out of nowhere Kuzma showed he can contribute right away. This year it looks like Mo Vagner and My Kai Look.

I think guys that play with LeBron are under more pressure to perform

Let’s see:
Rondo / Ball / Payton
Pope / Stephenson / Caruso
James / Mykailiuk / Deng
Leonard / Vagner / Frye
Lopez / Javale / Zubac

Kahwi for Deng, Ingram, Kuzma, Hart

Which team is the favorite to win the Summer League? Our team has a chance.

Some dude just mowed over Young, not sure he'll be back.
