Why are people saying it's useless for Bamba to play power forward? There's big power forwards in the league and when he's playing center there will be plenty of times people switch or a team goes small against him and he needs to be able to cover more mobile forwards. Plenty or times too when we'll ask him to go to the perimeter more as well on offense if we keep AG and Isaac long term. It's 3 games being on the court in any position will help him adapt.

He likes Iwundu because he plays with energy with his hands up and fights through screens without fouling much and he doesn't gamble. Probably giving Fournier such high praise because he also doesn't gamble and was the only SG not to get torched by Redick... don't recall Lamb/Monk or Mcgruder/Wade doing anything against him either. Of course, this is a super small sample size and on-ball defense is not team defense...

I don't see Evans defensive issues as 1v1, he seems fine 1v1 it's being able to adjust and follow when the other team is switching, screening and running plays that end up with him standing around lost while his man is wide open.

Plus he is fast and long enough to help out on the wing as well as help Vooch on D.

I'm still pulling for idea to change Augustin for Ross in SL.
That bench is terrible, nobody can pass damn ball. 24 min on the floor for them, they combined for 4 assists and 6-26 from the floor ( including 0-12 for 3 )

After one week of NBA action the Magic rank...

29th in ORTG
12th in DTRG
24th in Pace
13th in AST Ratio
13th in TO Ratio
14th in OREB Rate
18th in DREB Rate
21st in REB Rate

Sample size is still too small to make any sort of concrete determinations, but the Magic certainly aren't rebounding the ball at the level Clifford wants yet. I think that will come around in due time.

The early assist ratio actually tells me that Clifford's offensive system, while simple and somewhat generic is generally working. When the Magic score, it's typically off nice ball movement. They just lack shot makers and don't have that on-ball guard/wing who can create for others out of pick and roll or isolation.

Biggest issue for the Magic on offense was touched on by Clifford - the Magic struggle at times in forcing the defense into help situations. That’s really how you create ball movement and open shots. The reason buddy ball is still happening is because it is one of the ways that works for us in pulling the defense into the paint so there are open 3s.

I say we trade Vuc while his value is high. I still think that him and AG leveraged in the right trades can turn us into a playoff team, but we need a guy on the wing who can get the ball in crunch time and close out games and a PG who can do the same as well.

We get those things and I think we will just have to wait for JI and Bamba to put on size. JI said it best - this is just the surface of what he can do once he gets comfortable. Right now he is just taking what the defense gives him, which leads to efficient offense and is something we need very badly. Down the road, I expect more from him.

Main thing we can’t do is fall in love with the current construction of the team just because Vuc is being used better. We have to use our assets to fill holes in the starting lineup.

His length is making the other team question their shot selection, that is clearly having an effect even if he does not block the shot.
