Orlando's strength will be in pushing the ball and being athletically aggressive on defense.

3 games without Fournier is what propped up those stats.drsd wrote:Skybox wrote:OR, IMO...they will revert back to ball-stopping offense with non-creators trying to create, Vuc being mobbed in the paint, and Fultz being miscast as a spot up on the perimeter. Will Orlando be the team of the first ten games or the last ten games (games 56-65); that is the question !
First ten was a 3-7 record on i) 98.1 ppg and a ii) scoring differential of MINUS 1.2 per game;
vs. last ten on a 6-4 record on i) 119.8 ppg and scoring differential of PLUS 1.9 per game.

Add in the Lakers game that was in LA also. The next game Fournier was back and we lose to the Warriors.drsd wrote:basketballRob wrote:3 games without Fournier is what propped up those stats.
Win / loss with Fournier was 3-4 and without was 3-0. Points per game with was 117.1 and without was 126 per.
Points differential with was MINUS-2.9 per game. And without was PLUS-13.0 per
Over the last ten played games for Orlando:
You were very correct objectively.
What is truly remarkable was that the Magic was 13 point per game better in their last three ALL ON THE ROAD. WOW.
(Adding the Heat loss just before, this is still a 4-game run of being better ON THE ROAD by 9 ppg.)

At least Harrell will be gone, he gives us trouble.NotACat wrote:basketballRob wrote:Guess we'll need a game thread soon. Who are we playing Denver?

Clippers on Wednesday, Lakers on Friday, and Denver next Monday

Amazing what testing with quick turnaround results, contact tracing, masks, and wise social distancing can do. And in this community with essentially no viral load, the players and people within the bubble can actually carry on with their normal leisurely activities. It's a microcosm of what the state and country should have been doing from the beginning.

Not sure how we get to play the Lakers 3 times in a year.

Harell gives us problem? I thought Vuc thrives on undersized C who doesn't have the bulk? Isn't Harell a tweener but with mad hops?

Vucevic thrives on young or undisciplined bigs. He has never really overpowered anyone. Experienced bigs that can't be rocked off balance or baited into the air just swallow him up.
He purposely plays physical with Vuc and it works. Shamet, and Zubac are out with the coronavirus as well. Not sure if they have a third center.RookieStar wrote:Xatticus wrote:RookieStar wrote:

So where does Harell rank? I alwaye thought of him as an undrsized Deandre Jordan but with more offensive skills at the cost of not wanting to play D.

Morris is out with coronavirus too. Or maybe it was his brother with the Lakers.RookieStar wrote:basketballRob wrote:He purposely plays physical with Vuc and it works. Shamet, and Zubac are out with the coronavirus as well. Not sure if they have a third center.RookieStar wrote:

Well they have a lot of 6'9 players to throw at Vuc like Pat Pattwrson, Marcus Morris, Jamycheal Green... and og course they signed J.Noah too.
