Should have done this the day Weltman was hired. 4 years too late.
Wish we got more for Vuc but who knows what the market was really like.

Let's assume there's a worst case scenario and the Bulls land a top 4 pick in 2021. Does the pick roll over to a 2022 FRP? Is that pick protected or unprotected like the 2021 Wolves pick that the Warriors own?

Folks, check out Chicago's remaining strength of schedule. It's no cakewalk for them to get to the playoffs. 7th hardest SOS remaining. Plus, the teams in front of them are capable teams. Vooch makes them better? But are they clearly better than the teams in front of them? I don't see it.

Yeah, I mean just browsing the general board the consensus seems to be that we did really well here. I may be the most vocal Weltman hater on this board, but this trade makes a lot of sense. We got off that Aminu contract, a young top 10 center prospect, and two first-round picks that could very well land in the lottery.

We needed to do this. I like the move.

wasting 4 years of my life for this ... hope it was worth it
still AG had more value back then...as prospect....so overall trading ag vuc and fourenir 4 years ago would propably bring similiar return

They'll be fighting for a play in spot in my opinion. Will be very interesting to see how much better (if at all) Vuc makes them. I think we end up with 2 lottery picks this year.

we traded Gordon to Denver, yet to see what we got. God please not Bol Bol. he would be 4th center that can't stay healthy or on the floor for exstended time

Good lord, weltman actually blew it up right before his contract year, basically his resignation letter. Bad returns so far for 2 of the 3 going out... guess we know now why Weltman hasn't been very active with trades, bad negotiating just like hennigan. Martins should have let a new GM make these moves.

this is a good trade on a vacuum. but like Def Swami said, it's also an indictment on the last 4 years.

they must feel really safe in their seats considering this is a complete rejection of everything they preached until now. wonder how they're gonna justify it all.

I disagree. With AG and Evan probably gone, keeping Vučević make sense only if we are absolutely sure that Isaac and Fultz will soon become that DPOY and All Star players. And if we are dealing, than it is best to start with our best piece right away and not come out as garage sale pitch.

I for one think it is a solid return depending on protections, as adding one All Star to Bulls roster is not going to fix that team.

I think The Magic should have gutted it out with Vuc.

The picks will be mid first round and while Carter looked good coming into the league, I am not really high on him although he could be a starter.

Getting Aminu moved was good but I still feel The Magic could have reset the wing with The Gordon deal, used the high draft pick this year and been a good team next year.

I guess we agree on approach, but you are higher on Isaac and Fultz than I am (or FO) now. It is not a terrible return, we are clearing the cap and deals reported so far accumulated 2 FP and 2 SRPs with minimal salary coming back. Let's see what AG will fetch.

This is a direction I was inclined for last month or so, fully aware of risks pepe highlighted. It comes down to FO having a plan or relying only on draft luck and latter might even mean many years or decade of pain.

I am very happy with the Gordon return.

I just wouldn't have given up going with Vucevic yet. We shall see.
