The Magic gutted their team at the deadline to acquire draft picks and begin rebuilding in earnest, and Okeke will figure prominently in their rest-of-season plans -- among other things, coach Steve Clifford intends to give Okeke more post-up looks. He came in shooting 39.4% from the field and 62.5% from the field this season, so fantasy managers are forgiven for viewing him skeptically in 12-team settings. As a probable starter with 30+ minutes at his disposal, though, we recommend grabbing him now and asking questions later.

He got those minutes with only 8 players available. I want to see how minutes he gets when Wendell Carter, Gary Harris, Otto Porter and RJ Hampton play cause I expect those 4 guys to be part of the rotation. Some of the guys that played last night, They might fall out of the rotation when these 4 guys play.

Last year's draft, It was a possibility we might draft RJ Hampton. Instead obviously we drafted Cole Anthony with that 1st round pick. So if the magic had both Hampton and Cole on their draft boards, They were able to get both!

He's very young and very smart...but right now, he's got Vuc's physical profile without the skillset or vision. I'm still more hopeful that Bamba wakes up and realizes that, physically, he's a cheat code. Otherwise, both of them might be out of the league in 2 years.

Aldridge and Gasol did it for years, not sure why we could experiment with it. Carter says in the interview that he can defend the position.

Yeah in the 2009-2012 era. You could throw twin lumbering towers there. But in this era of switching and 3ptrs? PAu Gasol would be useless as a PF.

I was thinking about this after listening to several podcasts critical of the Vuc deal for not being equivalent to the Bucks Jrue trade. I don’t really get that criticism. All picks are not equal. I get that they are unprotected but I am pretty sure I would rather have Carter and two firsts from Chicago instead of that package. You had to think that Giannis was signing the super after that trade and barring an injury (which is unlikely because he has been really durable) those Swaps will be unused and the picks are going to all be late. Even if Giannis gets hurt Middleton and Jrue are enough to get them into the playoffs. Carter was a top pick with untapped potential. It’s a safe bet that the pick this year will be late lottery to at worst low 20s. The 2023 pick is sneaky because what if Lavine leaves in free agency in 2022 and that team could be in for some hurt. What do you all think?

That's the beauty of our picks from CHI and DEN

1.) the 1st pick is now where this is an extremely loaded draft and it is around 10 or so.
2.) both CHI and DEN are years away wherein nothing is ever sure in this league. Look at HOU 2-3 seasons ago, from almost beating the unstoppable GSW dynasty to our fellow competitors in the tank. Look at GSW, again from almost dethroning GSW to KD leaving and imploding the team in just 2 seasons. A lot can happen in 2-3 seasons. SO we can be hopeful it would be lotto picks.

Agree.. being 270 lbs doesn't help you become quick. If he w ants to be a PF, let him lose 30 lbs at least. No way can he keep up with PFs like Tatum , Tobes , Kd , Giannis , AG , etc
