After last night's games.

1) the four play-in teams are all locked in now.

2) current games back:
7 - Orlando, and "controls own destiny" for the 7
8 - Atlanta now a full 1 1/2 games back, and slumping hard
9 - Chicago 2 1/5 games back and on a mini-surge
10 - Miami 3 games back and bipolar

3) If the Magic sweeps the Hawks, the likely first game would be Chicago at Orlando.

p.s. Orlando currently has the 15th best record in the NBA.

He is just so far behind at everything offense related for either guard position. It's not just one skill you have to hope he gets better at if he ever wants to be a starting PG. Its not just that he needs to improve a little at everything like all young players but for the position people hope he ends up with, he is pretty much bottom of the leaque or bottom 3rd (compared to his position peers) at everything on offense.
AB shouldnt be any reason for not getting a PG next season. He can learn behind a real PG and back up 1-3.

The Magic will clinch the tiebreaker on Atlanta *and* Miami with a victory on Tuesday.

He’s another wing player which is fine as long as Orlando can find a PG. I have my doubts that we’ve got enough attractive assets outside of AB to bring in a player worth a damn though.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

On 23 Feb, Orlando blew out the Wizards. Banchero for the good of the team he did not stat-pad and landed on only 19 points. Otherwise this streak would be five games more still!

There is no I in team, and all that!

Having all of their picks puts them so far ahead of many teams when it comes to acquiring players.

Last year there was a stat where 75% of the tradeable 1st round picks in the league belonged to 11 teams (Orlando was one of them). I don't know how much different the outlook is now, but don't think it changed a ton.

They can get things done if they want. The hard part is getting this FO to make a move. And beyond that also making the right move when it comes to fit and not ruining the cap situation early in the process.

Is this a lost season? Will the final four games and postseason change your opinion?

The only chance of salvaging the season is winning a first round series... but we have zero chance of that happening going up against Cleveland and Boston... so, yes. This is a lost season.

I wrote off the season after we lost twice to the Raptors. I think the Magic beat Atlanta in the play in and lose in 5 either to Cleveland or Boston. Ultimately it's been a failure of a season and major changes need to be made, but most of us here know that

Suggs had a sleeve on his leg and some bandages.

Not lost, but not a lot gained.

Lost - Didn't get to see the team at full strength for long. Won't be healthy for postseason. Team-wide efficiency regression has been about more than just injuries.

Gained - AB has had a lot of opportunity on-ball. Franz levelled up. Paolo has returned to POTW form. Goga has become a great trade piece. Our draft pick will be more valuable.

How the FO responds in the offseason will determine if it was lost or not. If they run it back, then they learned nothing. If they make appropriate roster upgrades, then it will have been functional.

What should be clear is that we're not running it back again

Been saying for months that AB is a NBA wing. He does not possess the skill to be an NBA PG and that's fine. Hes best games come from his role of more of a 3D wing and doesn't have to worry about setting up offense. Thats fine if it comes later in his career but right now were forcing him into something he isn't.

You can argue season was lost in moment when it was clear that Core Joseph is best PG team has.

After spending 4 years in development of Elfrid Payton. I could swear he was on Hornets like week ago, now he starts on Pelicans. Do tankers borrow him to reforge tank or what?
