After spending 4 years in development of Elfrid Payton. I could swear he was on Hornets like week ago, now he starts on Pelicans. Do tankers borrow him to reforge tank or what?
Fultz wounds are too fresh to talk
Dont worry, we are ahead of schedule and our timeframe doesnt allow us to be serious about winning or development or anything anyway, we need to be patient until Franz and Paolo are at least 28 years old, then we know for sure what we have and what we need and our FO will take care of it

It looks like our rotation is:
Guards: KCP/CoJo/AB
Forwards: Franz/Paolo/Houstan
Bigs: WCJ/JI
9/10: Cole/Harris
Goga getting squeezed because JI sucks on offense is a crime.

Last time Goga got shockingly pulled, people here were speculating that ORL wasn't going anywhere anyway and didn't want to entice any bidders on his pending UFA status. Now are we trying to lower his trade value?

I'm not a conspiracy guy but I assume it's just because he didn't go to Michigan

Huge result last night after Orlando winning a crticial game over Atlanta, The Cavs took care of the Bulls.
This is a two-fer plus for Orlando. Not only is the Magic even closer to locking up a 7 or 8 seed, The Cavs now being guaranteed the overall #1 means also that the Celts is guaranteed overall #2.
There is no reason for Boston to try to win games. They are in health-recovery mode for the playoffs. The prospects for an Orlando win in its next game just went up biggly.
....
Current standings relative to Orlando.
Magic clear 7 seed; still controlling its own destiny on this slot.
Atlanta - 8; a full 2 games back now.
Chicago and Miami now for 4 games back.
Orlando's magic number for a 7-or-8 is thus 1. (One Orlando win or one Bulls/Heat loss and Orlando is a 7 or 8 seed).

Remember that's Isaac's conspiracy theory (on here) is that his devout Christian values make him untouchable in the eyes of ownership...despite the fact that they got their wealth with the biggest pyramid scheme in history

I thought this was an interesting observation from Hollinger in a new Athletic article - really shows how Weltman seems to be out of sync with the rest of the league in ghosting the trade deadline
Michael Malone firing and more beg the question: What’s up with the NBA lately?
Unloading superstars: Trend or weird year?
Hollinger: How about “both?” The Dončić trade, for instance, was almost certainly a once-a-generation thunderclap. That said, there is another trend dragging us toward superstar trades: Midseason is becoming the new offseason. We’re used to iconic stars changing teams in late June and early July, not after we get home from the arena on a Saturday night in February.
However, that’s not really possible anymore; there is little star movement in free agency thanks to more generous extension rules that keep players under contract. Thus, drafting stars or trading for them is the primary means of acquisition now. Go back and look: Even teams that weren’t in the title hunt made significant moves to set up their 2025-26 rosters.

Sorry if already posted, which I'm sure it was. But I just noticed we'll be the SouthEast Division Champs this year.
Which isn't saying much. lol
But it's still a cool banner on the walls.

Anybody know where play-in games will be televised? Will all playoff games be on network channels?
This is the time of year that I can’t wait to cancel crappy Bally/FanDuel plan

the play-in games will be shown on TNT and ESPN. TNT will be showing the 7th vs 8th seed games.

8-2 over the last 10. Paolo looking to be in good form. Team shooting 3s well. WCJ looking lively. Not too bad a feeling heading into the postseason. Imagine the vibes if we had Suggs and Moe.

Re: Official 2024-2025 Magic General Season Thread I
Anywhere I can pay $5 to watch it alacart?
Time for me to state the scary obvious. Paolo is at year 3 and Franz year 4. Their 3pt shooting is abysmal. If they shot slightly bellow league average they both probably average 30ppg.
I'm not sure what the answer here is. For now I would say they need to shoot less 3s and we need to get them more volume shooters for them to defer too?

I wouldn't play them. It'll hurt their season stats if they only play 20 minutes.

Sounds like Orlando plans to not-try to win against the Pacers.

Honestly i'll take it. We can't do better at this point minus the final season record. If the standings were down to the wire i'd sing a different tune but it isn't.
