People in this thread are seriously underselling the Heat.

It's not like they'll be forced to sign D-Leaguers from here on. Just watch them fill that roster out. It's not going to be as hard as some here will have you believe.

First of all as far as I understand Miami is 1 year away from their first MLE so basicly they have to find 6-7 rptation guys to play for MIN sallary next season - BIGs in particular. Some shooters are also must have. Anyway Wade, Bosh and Bron will have to play 40 mins everynight for a season which is a red flag already for Wade and Bosh with their injury history.
We have Carters EXP to offer teams in February, life goes on.

Well, I guess this is a good time to sign back in?

I'm a little shocked that Lebron went to Miami. I thought for certain he'd go to Chicago given the fact that he'd still be the main guy and a nice nucleus of Rose, Boozer, Noah and Deng. But Miami?

Like everyone else feels, I feel sympathy for the fans in Cleveland, and understand their situation. Not to sure what happens when Lebron comes back to Cleveland? Applause or boos?

Anyways the Heat are officially everyone's bandwagon team and not even a day has passed and it's reached to Heat vs LA in the finals!! OH JOY!

I'm not worried to the extent that we need to get a superstar such as CP3 (he's not going anywhere) but I am worried about this team for many reasons. Referees/bias play/Referees/3 superstars in their primes/referees...

But man, I expect that Pat Riley will manage to scrounge up some decent players to fit with Miami, but the Magic need to get some upgrades themselves. Let's see how it all pans out first. I'm discouraged but not beaten.

It could be worse. We could be Cavs fans right now.

Team USA is gonna kill everyone and Cleveland will continue to hate Lebron and it will hurt but he'll win like 6 rings so it wont sting as much.

I'm going to start off by saying my love for the Magic has just increased about a hundred fold. You made yourselves contenders without doing any of this Super team BS like the Celtics or Heat.

The next thing I'm going to say is that everybody needs to calm down. This is not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Not nearly as bad. They are still only allowed to use one basketball so two of them can't score at the same time.

Wade and Lebron are very similar players. They both drive to the lane and finish at a very high percentage. It's going to be absolutely imperative that teams cut off penetration against the HEat, and the Magic are the best in the league at that. The worst part of that is going to be how quickly Dwight picks up fouls when we play them. A player of the Charles Oakley mold would do wonders for this MAgic team right now. I don't think Lebron has the stones to continue to drive if every time he drives he hits the deck.

As for Bosh, meh. I've never been really impressed with him anyway. He's not a good rebounder despite his numbers and he plays Avi Lee like defense. He's got a decent jumper but a lot of his points come off driving to the basket. He scores because so few bigs are athletic enough to stop him. If there's anything Dwight Howard has it's athleticism in spades.

The final question that needs to be asked is which scrubs are going to fill the rest of their roster. Chalmers is okay, but I seem to remember Meer taking him back behind the wood shed. then it's going to be vet min guys and second rounders. I can't help but think that Dwight against Pittman or Bosh is going to be a slaughter, especially if The Dream works his magic.

this isn't the end of the world. This HEat team is gettin way overrated.

I actually feel a little bad for Cav's fans. Real Cavs fans not the Lebron nut huggers, who are all going to become Miami fans.

anyone who thinks any team in the league stands a chance against this team, who is now adding mike miller and possibly shaq to that list... as well as more to come players that will take vet minimums... is delusional... plain and simple.. i wish philly would just trade away everyone over the age of 24 and start rebuilding

I'm shocked about all the reactions that have been happening, not entirely by Cav fans but by Danny Ferry and Dan Gilbert. They are saying some pretty crazy stuff!

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_d ... nba,254750

The guy thinks The Cavaliers will win a championship before James does. That's pretty insane. Still, I really hope the Magic can stop them :/

This is so terrible for the league. Miami, Boston, LA are all manufactured teams. They did not legitimately builds those teams. It just sends the message out to everyone that you can't get it done the right way.

So I'm assuming the Heat just became the leagues most hated team over night. Not by the media of course. They are loving this, but the NBA as a whole will suffer big time.

Sweet more homerism!

Lebron james 09-10 fg%: 50.3%
Dwayne Wade 09-10 fg%: 47.6%
Chris Bosh 09-10 fg%: 51.8%

How long till the homer glasses come off, Magic fans? :(

Lebron James 09-10 3P%: 33%
Dwayne Wade 09-10 3P%: 30%
Chris Bosh 09-10 3P%: meaningless

There is only one ball on the court. At some point, Wade, or Lebron will have to stand in the corner during offensive sets and play the role of Rashard Lewis.

+1
I've been saying it all along. This team needs a real outside shooter to contend (and a legit center). Otherwise, just protect the paint and force them into jumpshots.

Um, Mike Miller says hello.

lebrons such a douche......

if you told the cavs you were leaving before they would have traded you, got something good back and be not nearly as pissed

he is so naive. I don't think it's that he left, what is really pissing them off. it's the spectacle he created, and going on live tv to stab them in the back. just a douche move he really does not respect anyone
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I propose that we send two of our best undercover in a vette fit with a ferarri kit - and of course dressed in light colored suits - to bust Slick Riley and the big three in dramatically staged drug deal :D

(I believe that's how it works down there in Miami)

Random thoughts.

I'm wondering where is David Stern during all of this. For all purposes, seems the Heat just handed him his balls by messing up the league. You know Miami will fill the roster with decent vets willing to take the minimum to play for a ring. But what I still cant see happening is this Chris Paul being the next to go there. With 3 max contracts, they can't give Paul a 4th. He won't play for the MLE. Or will Paul sign for the MLE and then Lebron, wade and Bosh each give him a cut of their salaries behind closed doors?

I dont care if they win ten titles in a row. Lebron will never be in the same light as Jordan or Kobe or Magic or Bird. You can count on a lockout next season as the rest of the owners will want to rewrite the whole CBA. Lebron is a punk. Cleveland did back flips for him to accomadate him and at the very least he could have avoided this whole charade knowing that it was Miami all along. He made up his mind this morning, yea right. This has collusion written all over it. Maybe for once Stern can not be a prick and actually be a commisioner with balls and look into how much the Miami front office knew about this weeks ago.

Also the Knicks and Nets are still screwed. Poor Knicks fans. They signed Amare and got rid of Lee. they actually got worse. Amare wont score as much without Nash feeding him and he can't rebound like Lee.

As for us, regular season we should be fine. I mean we only play Miami 3 or 4 times so even losing those games we still can win 59 games again and be a 2 seed (or 3 cause of the Heat but still have homecourt vs the 2 seed) But even without Lebron going to Miami we still would not win the finals cause we did not address the PF issue, LA would kill us on the boards.

Speaking of LA, you just know they will magically pick up a 3rd superstar for garbage. How much you wanna bet they land Paul or Carmelo for crap like they did Gasol?

Mike Miller is going to the Heat.....

But Regardless 3 Superstars 3 top 10 players in the League on one team.

We're not winning.
