Orlando has a third or fourth scoring option in Ryan pretending to be a second option and people think he's a priority? LULZ.

Priority should be improving the team not coming into the season with the same slow defensively challenged, jump shooting plodders. Should be getting a star to pair with Dwight not worrying about our role players. Everyone should be trade bait imo.

Paulie Pabst ‏@PaulPabst
Patrick Ewing said all the Orlando Magic assistants/Van Gundy's guys...are out of work, including himself

Paulie Pabst ‏@PaulPabst
"I really don't know....He (Jordan) just told me he wanted to go look for someone with a little more experience." Patrick Ewing...

So I guess Jerry Sloan is in pole position to get the Bobcats job ..

If we hire Mike Malone as coach, you think he'd bring in his dad and maybe Clifford? At least those two know our team's strengths and weaknesses.

In other news:

Chelsea Redick ‏@ChelseaRedick

I am officially awake at 5:37am bc @JJRedick is laughing hysterically in his sleep...so delighted he is having such grand time in his dream

He was probably looking at J-Rich's stats from this past season in his dream.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Couple reasons the camp cancellation worries me. First, 3 months of rehab in one location because he's unable to fly means the injury/surgery was bigger than I thought. Second, 3 straight months in LA enjoying himself, getting to know the town, can't be good. Unless he doesn't like it there, in which case you'd think he could figure out a way to return to Orlando.

It's also important to remember the big differences between Orlando and LA. In LA, there's places he can go where everyone won't be asking him if he's staying or signing an extension. In Orlando, I would imagine there's not too many places he can go and not be hassled. LA has a lot of stars to hassle. lol

Thats a huge problem, IMO, if he stays, maybe we would be signing another Grant Hill, thats not good, huh?

Besides Hill without physical skills >>>>>>>³ D12 without physical skills

Maybe it was better if Nets had got the #1 pick, so we could trade D12 for Davis. Anthony wont have a huge impact in his rookie season ala D12, so we would have another top pick next season, thats a good start.

I don't wanna read too much into it, but if he wants out he would be traded on draft night or before likely in order for us to get a high lottery pick or two in the deal. July 1st and 2nd is a few days after the draft so no point in him having a camp here if he's no longer part of the team. But again, it can be for many other reasons it was cancelled...

They'll make room when the time comes. OKC isn't going to let Harden and Ibaka go.

Ginobili (MLE/cap space), BBDavis, Liggins, #19/Harper

I really like this lineup, and I'm holding out hope that we go after Monta and Iggy, except I'm not sure Ginobili ever leaves SAS. I'd try to do work to get Crawford on our team this offseason. I also have no problem with Lewis, but I'd rather start BBD at this point.

Monta should be our prime target in 2013 imo. I'd much rather get him before though via trade this offseason. But we have to pair Dwight with a guy who can score off the bounce from the perimeter. After that, I'd go after Iggy or Josh Smith. Even though I like Josh Smith much more, I think he'll command much more money in free agency, so I'd sign Iggy to play the point forward. I'm not sure we'll have enough money left to get CLee, Manu, and Lewis, but I like the team of

Monta
CLee
Iggy
BBD
Dwight

and fill the bench with any money left over.

CLee is a FA this summer, so before we think about going after him, we need to clear up the log-jam at SG. PLEASE, ship JRich out of here for Darko. And, I think HOU is high on him, so they'd likely match any reasonable offer for him.

But, in a perfect world, I'd be very happy with a SG/SF rotation of Lee/Redick/Iggy/Liggins

It was reported that Gerald Wallace will opt out and I assume his final day to decide is Friday too. I'm wondering if Meer has made his decision yet or if this will linger into tomorrow.

Smells of an opt out from Meer

Jameer Nelson did not mince words when I asked him what will likely be the major factor on whether he comes back as the Orlando Magic’s point guard?

“Who doesn’t want a long-term deal?” Nelson said. “Everybody wants that security.”

This is the decision Nelson will likely need to make by the end of business Friday. Does he opt-in for one final year where the Magic pay him the hefty sum of nearly $8 million? Or does he opt-out for a longer deal somewhere else? Or another possibility is that he could opt-out and the Magic could restructure his deal to give him less money next year but more years on his contract.

“I love the Magic organization,” Nelson said, “… but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for me and my family.”

Stay tuned and check OrlandoSentinel.com for this developing story.
