Regarding Coolibaby, if he is available at #11 then San Antonio will be willing to overpay

Hendricks would allow Orlando to "go small" as a defensive smaller 5. i wouldnt hate him, if they thought his ceiling was high

I’m coming around on Bilal big time.

Big picture, trades seems to be opening up more in this next half decade. This makes drafting even more of a crap-shoot in terms how you’re filling your team out. Because trades will be there. And maybe even a blockbuster one.

So I had two lines of thought with this draft within the big picture.

You study MIA and how they are one of the most impressive Finalists to not go all the way. They showed us just how much you can squeeze out of a team and a couple stars if you genuinely draft for shooting, fit, and culture. You also raise the value of your pieces all around you.
In this line of thought, you might go with choices like Gradey Dick, Taylor Hendricks, Jordan Hawkins, and more.

Or you study something more bolder and it’s about homeruns and insane asset accumulation. What’s crazy about Bilal to me is he can theoretically fit both this and above.

The next line of thought is about the cap sheet and it’s ebb and flow within team construction and asset accumulation. And I believe we still have the flexibility and the rookie contract years remaining to keep swinging big and crazy, even if it costs us a 44 win season next year. In this light, the swing for Bilal makes sense.

And the choice of other prospects has these two perspectives behind them as well too. And yet still, a shooter makes a ton of sense again, like a Gradey Dick or Jordan Hawkins at #11. One of these many shooters is not like the others, and will be a piece that is a little too unique and better than an average NBA sharpshooter.

Players I like (in no order) -
Cam Whitmore, Taylor Hendricks, Bilal Coulilaby, Gradey Dick, Scoot Henderson, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Brandon Miller, Jordan Hawkins, Colby Jones, Ben Sheppard, Brice Sensabaugh, Brandon Podzmoeski, Jett Howard

Yea for me Its Hendricks at 6 or trade down if we think we can get him later.
At 11 if Dick is there then take him. If not take either Wallace or Hawkins at 11.

Don't you want someone to replace Franz? Move Paolo down?

Yes
I’m the only person on this board who thinks Franz might be traded within the next 5 hours.

I didn’t watch Franz get drafted and I didn’t watch his first year. Therefore I have no mental ownership like others.

He’s a driving layup artist (which is good), shooter, an introvert (does not motivate introverted Paulo hence the possible trade for Scoot), and not clutch, and the refs don’t respect him on D. He was in a slump. I don’t care what numbers people say, I watched the games. There were many times his brother looked like the more valuable player. He’s a good piece but he’s tradable.

Wow. Thats definitely against the grain. I respect it even though I disagree with you. So you probably view this draft way differently as you don't believe we have 2 building blocks. We only have Paolo in your eyes correct?

Scoot’s percentage is NBA length. Gleague shares the same distance.

That would make me extremely unhappy in the short term.

Would wait to see how the rest of the off-season plays out before losing my mind though.

I once thought this and then I saw some games and highlights more closely on him, and I u-turned real quick. Franz is as real as it gets. He’s just not some super flashy, number one pick franchise cornerstone player. Maybe he’s not a super no. 1 option. That’s it. We got someone named Paolo to help Franz out.

I think Black is possible.

Lively would surprise me because I don't think we want a C prospect - probably easier signing some cheap vet to eat up minutes depending on what happens with Goga.

I'd like to get OG and Porter for Fultz and Harris. We could also swap 11 Bilal for the 13.

It’s hard for me to see Lively slipping past Dallas….Unless…they move their pick.

I don’t know that 2 or three are going to move but so many teams with multiple pick seems like we might have a lot of action tonight

Kobe Bufkin might just be the right guy for The Magic. I have him 17th here but the more and more I think about it, it just might be him.

100 percent agree. I dont think Franz + our picks would even be enough to get Portland to bite on that #3. Hes a good young talent, but like you said too many posters have this emotional attachment to him like hes going to be Manu & Hedos love child.

If Portland is sticking with Dame they would run Franz for pick 3 straight up to the podium before Charlotte even made their pick
