52-30 or better
3 seed or better

I think that anything less than the ECF would be a disappointment. A first round exit means we need a new coach. ECF should be our floor in a weakened east. The only way a second round exit is acceptable is if we are beaten by the best team in the conference.
It's our first year with a mature cap sheet and Paolo is still on his rookie contract. There is plenty of time.

ECF is certainly somewhat realistic...but that kind of leap with such a young team would be pretty amazing. SOOOO much depends on the offense clicking - they've brought in the pieces and the coaches to indicate they're trying...but jumping from worst to top 10 is a lot more than personnel. Nobody but BOS and IND expect to be worse than they were before. I think winning a second round series would be a big success to be built on...but more is possible.

A fear would be tearing through the regular season and falling apart in the first round like UTA & ATL have historically done. The opposite would be nearly ideal (a slow, somewhat tentative, start, while figuring out how to play offense and gelling - followed by an explosive tear through the late season and into the playoffs).

That's my prediction...48 wins, with a much higher winning % in the second half and winning a second round series. Top 15 offense overall, Top 8 after the ASB. Top 5 defense wire to wire.

Sadly, I think Isaac moves at the TD (along with Jett) for scraps and monetary reasons...Penda and Jase's performances make this palatable. I also expect that Moe will re-up for something like his previous $11m and AB around the same. Maybe Goga sold off as well and the spot filled for a vet min guy in the mold of Plumlee (presuming Moe looks good and WCJ remains ambulatory). I actually have a really good feeling about WCJ this year. :o

If Boston and Indiana were still full strength, id agree. But in a weakened east? Gotta get two playoff wins this year. If we took a step back next year, i wouldn't be mad. But we can't settle for 1 win in a weak east. That's a disappointment.

East might be weak but aside from us, NY and CLE also made moves to strengthen their roster. They didn't just sit still from last season despite being better than us.

59-23 is my prediction for the season. I’ll be happy with 52 though.

Bane and Tyus don't look good together in the starting lineup. They don't provide enough length. That was the knock on Bane in Memphis. They were limited defensively with Ja and Bane.

If somehow Tyus started all year, I think we'd be around 15th in defense. It's probably better to start Black and have him play 35 mpg until Suggs comes back. I like Tyus playing around 12-15 mpg off the bench.

The Magic have a 56% chance of a top-four seed in the weak Eastern Conference.
