I am assuming Gordon will take his #11 which I am cool with. The question is will O'Quinn give up the #2 to Payton? I really hope he does so our backcourt can be #2 and #5, mirror image of each other. Anyways, I know there are others who are big on jersey numbers so just curious to see your guys predictions as to what numbers they will wear.

Nice! Really hope JV is being for real because I would love to watch our team run next year.

I was thinking earlier.. I've been comparing Gordon to Marion for a while but another guy he reminds me of is.. Joakim Noah. Ultimate team player, great defender (especially on the perimeter/P&R), good passer for his position with handles as well, and plays HARD. So excited to watch him play in summer league. Both guys needed to get bigger coming in.

I wouldn't be surprised if we try and put the ball in his hands on the perimeter a lot during the summer league so he can create.

Chad Ford was talking on a Utah radio station about both Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton before the draft. He had some really glowing things to say about Payton. "The more I think that if this kid were at Duke, Kentucky, or Kansas, we would be talking about this kid as the second coming of Gary Payton."

Something I mentioned in the draft thread last night - I don't know if it's going to lead to long term winning, but a 1-4 lineup of Payton, Oladipo, Harkless and Gordon is going to force so many turnovers. (And commit them too, tbh.)

Defensively we could be one of the more disruptive teams in the league next year. The important thing is developing a long-term plan and system to control the aggression on defense pick your moments to gamble on the steal.

Great scouting job bruh.
#RealTalk.....

Pretending like they know more than scouts and GMs do. Exum will probably end up being a starter and nothing more. Then we can all look back and laugh at, everyone who thought hed be an elite player.

No one is pretending anything, we just know GMs and scouts are wrong pretty often too.
pretty often? Gms are scouts are right more than any of us wannabes are, and its not close. Im going to go ahead and guarantee that. If theyre wrong pretty often then they need a new line of work.

All three teams who worked out Exum passed on him. What does that tell ya when the one team who didn't work him out drafts him? Well, they are banking on those hilight reals. LOL!!!

I just don't get negativity in general. OrlandoPinstripePost has about 90% angry people and 10 percent getting ganged up when they say they they like the draft.

We don't know if we hit with both picks or missed, but why put the energy and stress into hating something that you have zero idea about? Some people just like to be negative and argue.

It's ridiculous. The hate is starting to get on my nerves. If people don't see what kind of person we have in Gordon through all of these interviews, then IDK what to tell ya. Him and Payton are A+++ in the demeanor/mental fortitude area. I have a feeling they're going to be my two favorite guys on the current squad.

Perhaps Gordon may be my all time favorite Magician when all is said and done.

It's interesting because 5, 6, 7 years ago I would've been angry about this draft, at least initially. I'd probably be one of those people. I always got so invested in my personal opinion on players that I thought I knew better (even though I said I didn't think that way).

Now we get close to the draft, and while I have preferences I've noticed the last two years I've gone in saying, "I'll be excited for whoever we get" and kind of trust that I don't know as much. Sure I might be right at times, but i'm also wrong a lot. I thought Okafor was going to dominate the NBA. I thought Howard was going to be a skinny rail. Thought Rose was overrated coming out of Memphis. Thought Michael Beasley was going to be a stud. smh.

Much better now, less stressful, haha. I get into the draft for a few weeks, focus on a few prospects I like and kind of hope Hennigan thinks the same way and drafts my favs, but trust he'll pick who's best. Then after I step back and just wait for the NBA season and look forward to seeing the team play again.

My how times have changed.

Rob earned his money on this one. I had Exum vision and never looked into Gordon at all, dude is a bad ass. Elfrid Payton is going to be someone we love.

A lot of casual fans who probably don't follow the draft or college basketball. It's worse on Orlando Sentinel comment sections.

Yeah, I don't understand the folks who vehemently hate our draft. They act as if they knew Dante Exum was a sure thing. I was a big Exum proponent, but the professionals were given the opportunity to snag him up and they passed on him. I'm not gonna act like an "couch" scout and say Rob Hennigan made a bad pick while I have never even seen Exum play a full game. Our front office does their due diligence. I'd advise anyone that's angry to step back and just wait until these guys take the floor. It's so difficult and almost pointless to judge a draft until you see the players play. Each player adapts to the NBA game differently.

i wish the exum talk would stop. Relax. It's over. I was his biggest proponent but there is nothing to be gained by living in the past.

Besides, Payton is probably better anyway.
