One thing I’ve noticed since Joseph started is how much more frequently the Magic is running fast breaks. This is a young team, and that’s a smart, high-efficiency style of play. Yes, it takes energy—but again, this is a young team.

My point: Joseph himself usually isn’t part of those breaks.

Maybe it’s more about a general coaching shift toward "pushing the ball," which is leading to the increase in fast-break opportunities.

My point: Joseph himself usually isn’t part of those breaks.

Maybe it’s more about a general coaching shift toward "pushing the ball," which is leading to the increase in fast-break opportunities.

Suggs and KCP POA "defense into offense" was the general idea, turnovers leading to lightning breaks to the rim...it's fun, but you really need a playmaker the other 80% of the time.

I think Mose is great and I really hope that he's not the barrier to proper offense...He's young enough to change philosophy just a bit, given experience and new info. Weltman is much less likely to adapt or admit (to himself) that he's been building something good, but not really complete.

THIS is the summer where we find out. Cory Joseph is worth every penny of his $3.3m...but not much more. He's just a small taste of what ORL could be with a serious PG...Look around the league-it's a PG league, even if the position has largely shifted its identity to more of a scoring lead guard. We don't need a Trae-level guy, but we need a PG.

Cole started 22 games before Joseph and was 8-14. Cole has a habit of walking the ball up the court and holding the ball while he looks for a shot or assist. Black had no problem getting the ball up the court and handing the ball off, but he would go hide in the corner after he handed the ball off.

At the beginning and end of the season he started showing a desperately needed leap in confidence. Whether the leash came off, or he just started to become more in game confident I don't know.

I do not like how often he disappears especially for a point guard. But that doesn't mean he can't continue to develop. Year 3 will be very important for him as he has proven he is a corner 3 shooter but that individual skill set doesn't make him useful as the guy dribbling the ball upcourt unless he hands it off or its on the break.

Playin Black might give us some insight. This is the first time well demand more of him.

His eFG dropped by near 7% from rookie year.

It seems like they plan to match logo change with roster change.
I have nothing against it.
Making play in was the most realistic outcome with or without injuries and with or without trades.
We were patient with not using and accumulating assets. Now we should start to act.
