Would you guys rather have Bynum/Pau Lakers 1st, or Lopez/Brooks, Nets 1st?

tough call. Depends how bad the nets record is come march compared to the rest of the lottery teams. If they're a guaranteed bottom 3 team even after the trade (which means that pick would be no worse than the 5th pick), I would definitely take the NJ deal.

Kind of humorous that, in a sense, we'd be waiting for the Nets' pick to get worse while ours gets better... or rather the opposite :)

Dwight has mentioned in an earlier interview "until you hear it from the horses mouth, then don't assume anything"! Otis recent comments will certainly not help this whole situation. His job is to put talent in Orlando to help win a title, nothing else! So the new question is why should Dwight stay? 1) He has no serious talent on this right now to compete 2)His GM is putting words in Dwight's mouth.

The best cast scenario is Otis is let go and Alex Martin makes a one last effort to make a sell's pitch to D12 that things will get better and get 'er done :D

Then, they have to tank and hope for a 5% chance of drafting a superstar again. The NBA is becoming a joke.

The small owners should have held out harder in the new CBA. The nba will be a joke until the small market teams insist on a franchise tag ala the NFL.

Looking at how we played last night without dwight I think we could still be very competitive with a deal that involves Bynum.

I would want to keep BBD, Anderson, and JJ for sure. After shipping Howard and Turk to LA for at least Bynum (maybee Pau) I would look to upgrade from Jameer and Jrich. You would need to sign a real vet as the backup for Bynum because I don't think you can run him as hard as you can D12.

The only way I would touch the NJ deal is if its at the deadline and they are in last place. That in addition to being able to ship lopez out immediately. I want no part of a big man with a stress fracture in his foot.

Where is the big Chinese guy? was the best sign I saw at the rockets game in otown.

Orlando is a win-now team. Ownership would favor the above LAL deal.

The Magic would then be:
Nelson/Duhon/Hughes
Richardson-2/Redick/Liggins
Turkoglu/Richardson-1/Wafer
Gasol/Davis/Clark/Harper
Bynum/Orton

Such a team would win a lot of games. A title? Perhaps not. But a conference semi is essentially assured.

I've said it a thousand times before. Otis is to blame for Dwight leaving Orlando.

Otis has had years to prepare for this moment, years to build a contender. And all he did was construct a team of overpaid, unathletic shooters who are past their prime.

Is Otis really that dumb?
Doesn't he look at how other contenders are constructed?
Did he not see how Pat Riley made a Super Team by getting Bosh & LeBron?
Did he not see how Boston got their Big 3?

In the past 2 or 3 years,
- He could've traded for players who's contract would expire this summer => Sign Deron or CP3
- He could've traded for players Dwight wanted and were possible to get with our assets => Iggy, Ellis, SJax
- He could've traded for other types of players => players who attack the rim, PEOPLE WHO CAN'T SHOOT!
- He could've also just shut the F up. He said some things that made this team & some of its players look bad. Even now he's trying to make Dwight look bad instead of admitting he doesn't know how to construct a BALANCED basketball team.

And what also frustrates me, he doesn't know that he's doing it wrong. He actually thinks Chris Duhon is worthy of being a backup PG, Gilbert Arenas could've been an All-Star again, we wouldn't need a backup C or that we don't need young & athletic (NON-SHOOTING) players.

He also assumed (and still does I think) Dwight was gonna stay with a team that, despite being confronted with it's own weaknesses many times over the past seasons, hasn't improved AT ALL since the 2009 Finals. Au contraire, we lost some players that would've made us a better team 2yrs ago, last year & this year (C-Lee, Pietrus, Gortat) & are now stuck with players nobody wants to trade for.

But the worst part IMO, is that our owners don't know enough about basketball to realize Otis isn't doing a good job. Otherwise, they would've fired Otis 2yrs ago & hired someone who has constructed a good team before. Someone who looks at how other teams are constructed & tries to have a balanced team instead of 1 Center & 14 3pt shooters .. If I were Dwight, I would question this franchise's commitment to winning too. But that all comes back to one man: Otis Smith

I'm sorry for posting this again, but I cannot describe how frustrated I am about all this. And the fact that we cannot help it, despite knowing how to solve it:

Fire Otis => Hire a new GM => Change the system => Enjoy having Dwight in Orlando for many years to come

Now as far as my earlier statement, this is the way the free market is making its impact with the NBA. I think this is more relevant over the last 2-3 years with the global impact the NBA has internationally. Sponsors like Nike and Adidas can make more money worldwide from a player in a Big Market uniform. Thus, Spurs are probably one of the last small market teams from the old division of loyalty. Plus, they have a great coach. I don't think OKC has a chance of keeping Durant. They just have to do their best to convince Durant to sign the extension or accept the qualifying offer. Hence, they get 5-8 years to produce a championship before he leaves.

There should be rules in place that prevent sponsors from dictating where players should play, but I cannot blame the players for accepting the money.

At least Lebron took less money to play in Miami. I really don't hate him that much anymore. Sure, he bailed on Cleveland, but he accepted less than he could have gotten in a Bigger market (Chicago or Knicks).

I just read a rumor that Dwight is engaged. Fiance is a singer/model. IF true, makes total sense why he wants a bigger market. He's pulling a Melo on us; making his girl happy.

LAL is not giving us Pau and Gasol for just Dwight, and Hedo definitely doesn't sweeten that pot. In LA's mind, and many people's mind, Bynum is only slightly less valuable than Howard. Injury risk has little to no impact on NBA transactions, GMs are reckless and willing to risk on players with injury histories.

There was a trade brought up, where Houston got Pau and gave LA Scola and us Dragic and Brooks I think, that's possible if Houston for some reason wanted that.

But this news has implications that reach across the continent. Vest is an aspiring Los Angeles musician. Meanwhile, Dwight Howard is an aspiring NBA Champion.

I hate, hate the idea of trading Dwight, but I'm starting to warm up to the idea, I don't really like Lopez but if you can get Lopez, brooks, others Players, top 5 pick, shed salary, and get more picks it would be enticing

LOL. Then we get half a Pau Gasol, or we just get Pau or Gasol.

I'm not huge on Lopez, but I do think he can be a top 3 C in the next couple of years. If not for the injuries these last few years, he probably already would be.

Fortunately for us, he's sending his trade value straight to hell, lately.

Lopez/1st/Brooks for Dwight/Hedo. Who says no?

Nets sent Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, two first-round draft picks and cash considerations to Utah for the Deron Williams.

Last year the jazz used the nets pick on kanter, the 2nd 1st rd pick is via the warriors this year .. Nets still have their own pick this year and Houston's 1st rd pick (top 14 protected)
