Is that Ian Miller that is currently at FSU ?

Jj redick? I know he's a good player but he' s not winning us a title. Like I've said before everyone should be trade bait in order to improve. Dwight is not staying here if we go into the season with this bs line up.

I pray to the basketball gods that they dont waste their money on ryan anderson. That would be a huge mistake.

Changing because we're desparate for improvement is what got us into this mess in the first place. I'm all for strengthening our roster with young players however we can, and then swinging a good deal for a big piece if one becomes available.

@Nemesis...yes that ian miller...not sure if he declared for the draft yet though.....i digress....

SF Prospects that can be had at #19

Quincy Miller 6"9 210

Nbadraft.net has him going late first round around 20+ He has to get some bulk on him but he can definitely create his own shot.....If we want to go a more creator route instead of playmaker he's the pick imo if we want a SF.....

Terrence Jones 6"8 244

Nbadraft.net currently has us picking him at #19....all around SF....can do a little bit of everything....score....pass...rebound...defend....he is a swiss army knife....his shot though is a bit slow imo....

I'd rather draft Jeff Taylor or Moe Harkless than Jones or Q Miller.

^^i like Taylor too....see though this is why i hate doing this kinda thing before the draft combine because at this point there is a lot of things still up in the air......but there isn't much to talk about with Orlando Basketball at this point so.....I just hope we draft well......

I like really wouldn't mind Taylor or Harkless as our pick at 19, only I wouldn't want either if Miller or Jones are there. If Quincy is there he should be the pick no question but if he is gone which there is a good chance than I wouldn't mind Harkless or Taylor although they have a lot of questions around them.

So many things depend on our direction....if we have the same coach and GM who knows what we're going to do.....But with a new GM and new coach we have to draft players that fits our new coaches system......plus what we're going to do with the PG position if Nelson doesn't pick up his option?

If he doesn't we might have to move up in our draft position.....but to be honest the PG position in this draft isn't really strong......A few guys with fringe All-Star potential but no superstars.....If we can trade one of our guys for a first round pick then i would draft......Maalik Wayns for our PG and Quincy miller for our SF......

That's of course for right now....draft combine comes around and the prospects complete their workouts and interviews then we can get a better idea where those prospects should land.....happens every year that some prospects stock fall and some prospects stock rise due to the combine.......first things first though....let's take care of our GM and Coach situation

From Wednesday, the GM slot looks to be resolved. Then the Magic organization can start to look at the roster and evaluate the rookies.

Orlando is near certain to draft BPA. And this year that is probably more of a Courtney Lee selection than a Daniel Orton selection.

If a Kendall Marshall or a Tyler Zeller type slides, Orlando would tab such a player.

If Orlando re-inks Nelson, Marquis Teague might be the way to go. He would have years to develop as a replacement. It would be a good fit in both directions.

Almost nothing really stands out from the 2-3 different scouting profiles I've read so far on Teague. He seems like a typical PG coming in from these drafts the last few years and I don't like that he probably won't even be a better passer than Nelson and his ceiling seems low/middle. I'd rather get Machado, Marshall over him who look like passers.

I think the way to go is who fits, we need wings period, or a PG too. We might miss out on a big or two but if we have Dwight, who cares. I'd go for a wing at 19 and a PG in 2nd round. Then have an, all free fight, in a full preseason camp over the starting/major-mins. SF spot and backup PG spot. These are just two spots that, even with starting to gut space out, we can become a better team somehow at the same time. We're looking at all those 20-30 min.s from Duhon and Turk as serious chances to improve play from.

It's pretty bad when I want to puke when i see turk and duhons names. They need young athletic players. I'd like to see liggins earn some pt in camp

I like to compare Harkless to Thad Young & I would def be up for Orlando taking him if he is there, we really have nothing at the 3.

Thanks for those Scouting reports Gambino! I literally didn't know anything about Wroten or Teague and I was extremely skeptical about both, now I really want both.

My fav players in this draft:

Damian Lillard-Sucks he wont be around at 19 because I think this guy is gonna be a monster in the NBA. Good PnR player, good one on one player, & a great finisher/scorer.

Moe Harkless-Moe has so much potential but is still very raw. If SVG does in some crazy change of events remain the head coach I want this guy on our team. Moes defense is already extremely good & if SVG is still coach the sky is the limit for him on D.

Quincy Miller-Young & FULL OF TALENT. Can handle the rock, pass it, & knock down the jumper. He would instantly upgrade us at the 3 spot & could develop into a good defender with his length......he could be the steal of the draft with where he is projected to go.

We need a passing guard, not a scoring guard.

We also need someone who can put the ball in the hoop. If he somehow fell to us he wouldn't be the starter right away. He would come off the bench as a backup & be a spark off the bench. The guy can straight fill it up & get his own shot. We lack that off the bench.

Trade:

19, 49, future second

For

24, 33, 34

Then we draft Teague (24), Jeff Taylor (if available at 33, and if not then will barton), Kevin Murphy (34)

Young guys:
Teague
Murphy, liggins
Taylor
Harper

That's not including earl and Ryan.... I like it
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Taylor wouldn't be a creater but at pick 19, it doesn't seem to get any better than that, especially if you see some FA's coming in to help Dwight, or even just want more defenders again finally. The Magic would have to really high on someone to be a creater or passer wing at 19, like Miller, Waiters or w/e guy around there who can score and has IQ to pass it out and around when needed.

I'm definitely on the Wroten train too. I'd take Wroten, Marshall, Machado over Teague.

I read that the the people organizing the huge joint workout in New Jersey this weekend expect representatives from all 30 teams which means the Magic will actually do some draft homework. While I don't put much faith in the talent evaluation skills of the current Magic FO, I think its better that someone attends the workout than not attending.

All 30 NBA teams are expected to have representatives on hand...
