Unlike past hires, where it felt like we had to "give someone a chance" Henny feels like the right man for the job, unlike Otis he's not going to give dwight away for nothing like he wanted.
If Howard attempts to strong arm, it will fail, with plenty of teams willing to rent
If Howard wants to stay, we can get back into contender status soon.
The east is wide open, Heat will have their finals hangover, I expect Dwade to continue his decline, they will be tough of course. Bulls have the DRose issue, Knicks are poorly constructed and badly managed.
Anderson is the key to everything he can bring us back something good for the 1,2, or 3 positions.
My thinking is try for Tyreke Evans, Kyle Lowry, or Aaron Brooks(swap of rights with PHX)
Keep Jrich unless we can get an acceptable deal
sign Odom to be our starting 3 or 4
try to move up in the draft, you know Austin Rivers would love to play for his hometown team, Kendall Marshall, I'd be happy with Moe Harkless
we got to get more athletic, and quicker, Harper may be able to step in and backup BBD and give us some shooting.
my optimal scenario
Lowry/?
Jrich/Rivers/Liggins(once Rivers shows he can start, then move Jrich, get Liggs mins)
Odom/Hedo(hedo cannot be a starter anymore)
BBD/Harper
Dwight/legit backup
I think Odom is possible if Brian Shaw is hired, he knows how to use him correctly, to his strengths
flame away
edit: left out JJ Redick, I think he holds alot of value in a trade, in a possible move up scenario to snatch Rivers
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
