Is Vaughn that much respected? The thing I remember about the year he played here was that he was Duhon like although he played harder.

You take that back!

Is that anyway to welcome our new head coach?

Well, I think if the Bulls match on Asik's offer, it certainly couldn't hurt the offer of Dwight. The Rockets are limited in regards to quality players at the center position who can actually contribute consistently, and if there were any concerns in regards to Asik's contract causing some cap issues, which I didn't think there were, than it only helps the situation.

Are you saying Duhon may become an NBA coach one day? :eek2:

his ability to play has nothing to do with his ability to coach. Players can be respected even if they aren't top tier talent. I just don't see a correlation.

I think it would be wise for CHI to match asik.
1. it keeps him on their team and hes a good player
2. it will help the chances of moving Dwight out of the conference meaning 1 less team to worry about and better houston then LA MIA or BKN

I thought the bulls were trying to dump salary, Asik is not even that good.

Bulls would be wise to match for Asik and flip him for some wing help for Rose at the deadline or next offseason. We should have done that with Gortat, but........I digress. Asik can be a starting center in the league and the Bulls will turn him into a 2 guard imo.

I can see where Jacque Vaughn may come in coveted by Henny. Henny said he wanted a coach committed to player development, and if we're going to have a young team, Vaughn would be a good mentor to our young guys and teach them how to be professionals.

Vaughn is a little too anti-SVG for my liking.

Why exactly is Houston waiting on New York to match Lin before they offer Asik? That makes no sense to me

Doesn't seem to have any type of mean streak. He played that way as well. Always a "we'll get 'em next time" mentality instead of getting upset about it.

Tony Mejia ‏@TonyMejiaNBA
The #Magic are coming out of left field with their coaching hire. Traits desired: a cerebral, patient teacher. Will miss SVG's exasperation.

Brian K. Schmitz ‏@MagicInsider
Source close to Brian Shaw: Magic job "wasn't a good fit."

My personal favorite would it be:

I say we "promote" him to head coach right now. At least it keeps him off the court.

Sam Amick
More Jeremy Lin fun continues from Vegas: it appears the Knicks and Rockets don't see eye to eye when it comes to whether or not the Houston offer sheet was submitted formally yesterday and if the deadline for New York to match the offer is Tuesday at 11:59.59. The teams wouldn't comment on record, and a league spokesman said to contact the teams. As I wrote in a piece that will be up soon, the silliness continues...

This Knicks-Rockets beef is hilarious  It's all so petty
