Given the decision by the NCAA, I fully anticipate the NBA to have games without fans as well. I fully expect to watch Magic games with no fans at the Amway Center within the next week or so. It's the right thing to at this point.

The Magic released a statement that they plan to go forward as usual with games this week, but most public health experts in major metropolitan cities are recommending against these mass gatherings.

I’m more pissed off that all the best tech conferences are being canceled.

Wow Gobert might be getting tested for coronavirus or something. They aren't playing the game.

Not that it’s as important as health but the economic repercussions are going to be huge. Imagine all of the arena workers not getting paid for a long time...

I just laugh when people say we only have ~1,000 cases. I bet it’s easily in the tens of thousands at this point.

Maybe hundreds of thousands. I do some special events and have to be around thousands of people the next few weeks. I'm surprised the government hasn't stepped in yet to cancel all gatherings of people.

The problem is the vaccine is 12-18 months away, so they may end up canceling next season too.

Just making interesting conversation here ...

I think this is fascinating. Economy vs. Health as some are actually having to make that choice. In many cases a family never directly impact by this particular virus will be impacted hard economically and that very much will hurt their ability to remain healthy in other ways.

It’s crazy and only getting crazier.

If you look are the growth rates it is shocking already.

Since Evan has been out there have been reports of Magic players pulling into arenas with this song blaring from their car speakers...

I been working on the road for past two months and up to next 4-6 months with at least 2 more for sure. A month ago I got on a plane from Houston with 12 asians in masks in the 2 rows in front of me. A few days later I got a massive chest infection, but didn't have a fever. Ironically, I had done 2 days of work at a medical center and caught that cold there. Everyone thought I had coronavirus but was ruled out and I didn't miss any work. If the economy collapses, I may be without a job for a while which would truly suck or I would have to spend even more time on the road working in any state where they have work until Florida market picks back up. Fortunately, I get a house via Airbnb wherever I go and bring my dog with me so I can explore mountains, ocean and/or hiking trails.

I've heard even if you live that it can do damage to your lungs. That could be an NBA player's career.

They are monitoring cases as there is no proof of long term or permanent damage as of yet since it is way to early to state that as fact. Probably depends on the person.
