People simply need to grasp reality of his hype, he IS one of best prospects ever, but his offense will come along over time, for time being, in first 2-3 years he will walk into nba and instantlly become top 10 defender. By year 4 he will probably be distant best defender in nba. But offense has to come along. If Pop is around for next year or two, i have no worries about his offensive game. Guy can easly average 15 ppg by just getting rebounds and dunking off leak in pick&roll.

Last night guy had 5 blocks, cool. But also him just existing there scared all other players from even attemping layups.

In games it's impossible to get feeling how tall Victor is. I saw Marjanovic in person and i legit was scred of that man. Victor is taller.

I can't imagine how basketball guard standing at his 6'2-6'3 feels going at rim knowing there is 7'5 person with 15 feet wingspan lurking.
His passing feel jumped out at me, too. Really impressive.

I don't put too much stock in summer league, especially one summer league game, but Bufkin having 8 points, 8 turnovers and 8 fouls is funny to me.

Anyway looking forward to some midnight (for me)basketball tonight, should be a fun watch despite it being hot AF here today.

Wemby has crazy feel for the game for someone his height. And very agile too.

I like what I saw last night.

He obviously still has a lot of lifting weights to do, but he will make an impact on defense right away.

Slightly OT: but is it just me or Wemby looks small in the NBA setting compared to his games in Europe? Perhaps its the camera angle? Wemby seems to cover a lot of ground in Europe than in the NBA setting lol

Wemby should play around the paint. We don't want him to turn out like Mo.

Mo, 16 ppg 10 rpg 4.2 bpg in 3 summer league games.

I wasn’t concerned about Wembanyama until he said he had no idea what he was doing out on the court but he’s eager to learn.

That’s what Hezonja said.

He didn't play with any toughness.

thought i heard that was in reference to the Spurs sets and plays. which makes sense that he hasnt been around as much as other summer league invitees, as he knows his spot on the team is guaranteed so he didnt need to be there from day 1

But if the team is making him play summer league then he needs to be with the others to practice. To make him go out there, not knowing what he was supposed to do, was incredibly weird for the Spurs part. They normally get their guys more prepared than that. I understand the media he must have gone through, but the media should not have been the priority.

Having Paolo and Franz have two polar opposite summer league experiences will keep our emotions in check when AB and Jett play. :)

You guys pay too much attention to esencially poorly officiated pickup games.

Bamba looked great in SL just to piss off career in upcomming years. Franz opposite.

15 ft wingspan?!? Magic dream haha jk

Good notes and perspective. Agreed... He is in the best position with pop taking him under his wing. Excited to see his future

Wemby could single handedly introduce a new stat category: Number of shots blocked with an elbow. I'm sure there were nerves for him last night. But what has impressed me is what others are saying about his intangibles and team play, which is bad news for every other team in the league. I've never really liked most superstar players, but if Wemby hits that status and keeps his current attitude, I might be a fan (except when he plays us).

Bufkin had 8 turnovers? **** it’s all small sample size and the vast majority of these guy are rusty last some of them played was march?
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Paolo had 8 turnovers in his second summer league game. It happens. These guys must be exhausted.
