Didnt JI just mentioned that Mosley asked him to play more center minutes ? He is kind of perfect fit next to Paolo if you think about rim protection and shooting (in theory)
We need Isaac and a center that can rebound. If we use Isaac to plug one hole, then another one opens.

Carter is playing like Mo Bamba.

JI
WCJ
Paolo
Franz
Suggs

Goga
Mo
Ingles
Harris
Cole

Mosley has cut AB out of the rotation so this is what we should be seeing more often... and I wouldn't be shocked if we see it in the playoffs.
He'll probably go with all those except Goga. A lot of the playoff teams are already using a 9-man rotation. I'm curious how good we'll be with a 9-man rotation. Adding a few more minutes to Suggs, Banchero, Franz, and Isaac should make us better. One reason NY is better lately is their playing a 9-man rotation, and some players are playing 40 mpg.

Suggs 35 mpg
Franz 40 mpg
Paolo. 40 mpg
Isaac. 25 mpg
Harris 30 mpg
Carter 30 mpg

I don't get it; did Orlando fire their media-guy intern, or something like that?

Fired or promoted my guess. Likely fired.

In this game the Magic had a 10-man rotation (plus scrub minutes for the deep bench)
Houstan's minutes could have been cut to take the team to a natural 9-man rotation. But with Isaac, it again returns to 10-men.

This seems certain to be the playoff rotation:
Suggs/Fultz
G-Harris/Anthony
F-Wagner/Ingles
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/M-Wagner

With a lot of potential from the deep bench in-game dependent.

The CURRENT starting five needs to be THE starting five moving forward. Suggs and G-Harris work well together.

They pulled a post less (not a normal thing) and posted the position in less than 12 hrs. Fired is the best guess.

I mean.. yeah there is context to everything, but in a half court offense Carter is lacking. Thats going to be the larger case when we are in the playoffs. Paolo isnt a great rebounder or defender inside. We need someone to offset that instead of this "everything is by committee therefore dont look too deeply into the obvious on a per position basis."

Agree to disagree I guess man. I don't see a huge benefit in trying to juice the offense with offensive rebounding at the expense of the defense. At least not with this current group.

The gains offensively they need to make seem like they're going to come when they have better offensive players than Fultz, Harris, Cole, Ingles in the rotation. Not really before that.

Also there's some feel v. real going on here considering the current starting lineup is actually kicking ass (albeit against a soft slate of opponents recently).

Agreed. This is it. The 10 so to speak. Fultz may drop off for the 9 man rotation IMHO. Otherwise what you see is likely what you get. Someone tell Carter to tape his everything.

I think the rotation in the playoffs has to be 9 and not 10.

START: Suggs, Harris, Franz, Paolo, Carter
BACKUP: Cole, Ingles, Isaac, Moritz

Paolo, Franz and especially Suggs should all get an uptick in minutes from where they are right now. Isaac, if his body can handle it, should also be given the green light to play 20 minutes minimum at the bare minimum and bump that up to 24-25 if he can hang.

No 5-man bench units.

We are a great rebounding team despite WCJ not thanks to him. My eye test tells me he loses a lot of contested rebounds, and i think numbers support it to some degree. He would look a lot worse if our guards werent that much engaged.
REgarding rotation in the post season i guess it could change depending on matchup. I see scenarios where both Cole and Fultz are unplayable and we need to give minutes to Black.

It's been the starting unit during the "easiest" stretch of schedule. Not using that to disqualify the unit from discussion as our best starting 5 but the fact that it can be disqualified is a red flag and due to limited mins. WCJ and Gary Harris are not available enough to be relied on long term. I'm curious to see how the starting unit looks after playing the Pelicans Kings Warriors and Clippers.

Depends on the matchup. Whether coach feels like he has the freedom to adjust with his 4 year contract. I doubt we see Black arrive on the scene like Tyshawn Prince, and plays knockout defense + spreads the floor, and then suddenly displays Ingles type vision on the court.

If you ever wondered what I hoped was Blacks peak. Well. There you have it.

I agree with everything you said. I also think barring injury. This is it. The vision eyriq, the plan.

Suggs + Harris is the backcourt of Suggs + the veteran guard we talked about acquiring. Just have to keep him healthy.

If Harris goes down. I expect Black to start in the playoffs. Full stop. I do not think Fultz cracks the playoff rotation unless we are playing a team with terrible interior defense in the first round. Just my humble opinion.
