You aren’t having a conversation.

You are just adding random remarks like I don’t know what I’m talking about. I do.

I’ve watched every game this season watching Franz and Paolo iso to the basket 99% of the time. I’m not randomly coming to this conclusion to piss people off. There is no functional offense being run here.

So either Jalen Suggs is 100% the key to this team winning basketball games or Tim Legler is correct that they aren’t utilizing their roster around their elite scorers correctly.

There’s no way you watched this game, and the last 5-6 possessions on offense, and came away with the idea that Mosely was drawing **** up on the sideline. He’s not. And that’s not really entirely an indictment of him. It’s the staff. It’s the personnel. It’s the Front Office also.

I like messing with you because it's clear you never read post that I or others specifically write in any other threads about our views of a team. I literally agreed that this offense is terrible, lol.

I've complained about it before Paolo went down the first time because it never involved other players moving off the ball, cutting, or having any secondary movements

You essentially like only getting your point across without reading which isn't good for a context of a conversation.

Lotto pick + Den pick + KCP + WCJ for [insert guard]

Flagg would be awesome but Harper would be the perfect fit. Sad that we’re even having this conversation.

Kasparas Jakučionis Is a much better fit since he has been playing professional already before this Freshman season at Illinois. Dude is gonna be a stud

Gonna be honest, I’ve only seen Flagg and Harper since they’re talked about a decent amount so you might be right. I’m conflicted on this but I think I’m leaning towards wanting the draft pick vs getting waxed in the playoffs… knowing this FO though, they’ll finally make a trade and move the pick for another KCP.

Single game +/- but Paolo refuses to rotate on defense and was a -19. I tend to believe in the stat a bit there with how they targetted him.

Also we got 10 points and 9 boards in 53 minutes from our bigs. Levert alone almost outrebounded our bigs. Zero! offensive rebounds from our bigs. 1-2 more rebounds and that game is winnable.

He’s a 6’6” point guard from Lithuania who has already played multiple professional years for FC Barcelona.

Averaging 16/5/5 on 47/35/83 shooting his freshman year so far. We know how confined college hoops is though when it comes to stats.

I hate that I’m saying it, but I am just really down on Paolo right now.

He shot the ball really well in the third quarter, but the overall effort is just so poor way too often for a guy they’re counting on to be a star.

If someone on the perimeter gets beat and Paolo is the back line defender, it’s basically a guaranteed layup because he’s either not going to rotate at all, or he’s going to do the classic Vooch fake rotation and offer up basically zero resistance at the rim.

Whoever they move the pick for will be mediocre and whoever gets picked with the pick will be good lol. That is just going to be our luck.

I can't even think about the lottery, if they were in the west yeah I would be rooting for a top 5 pick and it would be very very possible, but they are going to be in 14-20 range I'm sure.

People look at the points and think he had a great night. The team was at its worst when he was on the floor. Doesn’t defend worth a **** and doesn’t rebound. Say what you will about +/- and its value as a stat, but Paolo is consistently among the worst. And to be -19 on a night when he scored 30+ is bewildering. The guy is not an asset. Either he’s just tanking and doesn’t want to try defensively, or he’s just not going to be the superstar we envisioned.

If he’s playing hurt, he should not be playing. Not worth risking it for this group, which is full of bad players, going nowhere in a big damn hurry.

+\- is a pretty worthless stat without context. I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on it. Franz played well and got a 0.

Here is the context of the lineups and their +/- results in today’s game.

And the lineups from the win over the Spurs here.

Huh?

You literally responded to a post asking me to do Mosely's job after I point out there is zero offense.

Then said I don't know what Im ever talking about?
But now you concede on the slightest pushback and say that you essentially agree, but you are just messing with me.

Write something worth reading and maybe I'll remember it more than you writing a 9 paragraph essay talking about the merits of Wendell Carter in the middle of a November game thread.

A huge number of turnovers in the first 3 quarters combined with bad defense the entire game.

Rest of the team is just awful. What happened with Wendell? We pay him and he decides to stop trying? Issac looks like a shell of his former self, ab and jett look like busts, Gary Harris has no business getting nba minutes. Kcp is a massive bust. Just a nightmare season considering the expectations.

Agree completely. And I agree with just about everyone about what we need. But the fact that they look like a lottery team is why I ultimately just did not care if they made a move at the deadline. Now if they don't make changes in the summer I will have my pitchfork as well.
