Even as a basher, I have to say... it wasn't so sure that he was going to opt out, so that could've feared teams away. At least the power is in our hands now.

Jonathan Feigen ‏@Jonathan_Feigen

Rockets Royce White and Terrence Jones have signed their rookie deals, source said. Jeremy Lamb expected to sign in coming days.

And more Pincus with knowledge of deals never reported like Jameer's. Strange he writes that they are facts that we see on message boards but never announced by teams.

Eric Pincus ‏@EricPincus

I'd actually learned that Terrence Jones signed back on 7/9/12 - need to update HW Rockets page - can't be dealt til 8/9/12, technically

Basically Boris Diaw and Tyrus Thomas ....its not the end of the world people chill out. We're keeping Howard until the deadline.

what team u gonna trade howard to at deadline

rockets is not gonna be there, they wll be out of playoff contention at that point and they certainly wont trade for 2 month of rental, same for anyother team not on dwight's list

so u down 2 2 options, lakers or nets. bynum is not going to sign an extention either , he will wait to be a FA for the 5 year contract, so orlando either gambles on bynum or takes Brook Lopez and humphries

Why is everyone assuming that the signing of these rookies means a deal with Houston is dead?

The regular season will begin on Tuesday, October 30th. So we could make a trade for these guys anywhere between August 24th and September 30th and still have them on the roster for opening night. If Orlando doesn't play on the first night of the season then that window expands.

Teams can agree in principle to a deal and then make it official once the 30 day waiting period for trading newly drafted players is up. So this in no way ends the talks between Orlando in Houston.

I like the way you think.

The Oregonian has learned the Blazers Final Four coaching candidates: Terry Stotts, Elston Turner, Steve Clifford and Kaleb Canales

So Shaw didn't even get the Blazers job...

Maybe Shaw doesn't really have what it takes to be a head coach in the NBA and is better off staying as an assistant.

Huh?? Where did I flip? The earlier post you replied to was a positive take on the Nelson signing and this post is a positive take on why the deal most of us want might not be dead.

I got the Third Eye Blind video link for Jumper on my clipboard for when the Lamb signing becomes official.

The odds that they don't sign Lamb this week are really slim. They definitely won't wait until August 5th.
