Inch and a half? That's a quarter inch more than you can normally expect, but I don't think that's all that drastic.

I'm fine with the Magic taking Burke, but I think if we do, we'll be trading down for him.

I wonder about Tuesday, which lineup suits us best if we're going after Burke. How far would he fall if we weren't in the lotto? To the Pelicans, Kings, Mavs? Not sure there are that many teams that would take Burke over someone else in the draft.

What? I just took Jameer's draft combine measurements and compared. Burke was 1-1/2" taller than Jameer.

I think the Pelicans & Pistons really like him.

No. I was responding to londoncallin's post which posed the question asking if he (Burke) was wearing two inch heels. When you subtract his height without shoes from his height with shoes, you get an inch and a half. A typical difference in height from shoes is an inch and a quarter. So I was saying that his shoes aren't "heels," they're just a quarter inch thicker than the typical shoe.

Oh, ok. So Pelicans and Pistons and perhaps Kings on Burke. It will be interested to see where they land in the lotto and see if we can work a deal to get in a spot ahead of whichever team wants him. Preferably, the Cavs would be the team ahead and we could get their two 1st rounders, 1 from LA, for our pick, and get Burke.

I agree. The Cavs COULD be our best partner.

From what we have seen from Henni, he likes to squeeze every last drop out of value he can from deals. (structuring Dwight deal cunningly to get huge TPE, moving JJ so as not to lose him for nothing, renewing McRob TPE, waiting on Dwight trade so TPE expires after draft, free agency, etc). So I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him try to move our pick if he can to trade down slightly if there is somebody later in the round he is targeting.

When is Dwight's TPE going to expire again?

If it is around draft date, it got to imply that Magic will be working on a trade draft night to draft additional players.

I asked Henni. Aug 12 I believe. Somewhere right around there. He has all summer to play with it.

Thank you. I guess I wouldn't find the answer anywhere on the Inter Web. A trade or two is happening is all I can say.

Does anyone know who is going to be the steal of this draft?

Answer: Shane Larkin! He comes out late from a not so big of a basketball school this year and he is only a sophomore. He is like Trey Burke last year with not some much hype and buzz. If Shane stays in school and has the same luck as this past year, he could be darn top 10 IMO. If Magic really needs a Point Guard, I would say trade down, for example, for a 5th pick and 12th pick drafting Otto Porter and Shane Larkin. Larkin has a elite speed in all college basketball point guards and is really under valued even to this day. That could be a really good steal of the draft, IF, big IF, we land a top 2 pick.

He's an inch taller than Dwight was with a slightly shorter wingspan and standing reach.

Nice, but he needs to gain about 50lbs

He was actually weight 228 during the ncaa season. He lost lbs due to injury. Davis was 222last yr

I doubt Larkin goes anywhere near 12th, more likely late first round. Still though, I like Larkin and it does seem like he would love to play for his hometown team. Also the Magic have had an interview with him, so it sounds like the interest is mutual. Definitely could see the Magic trading to get a second 1st round pick and taking him, especially if Henny decideds to go with Noel or McLemore with the first pick instead of Burke.

So I see two teams gave Dennis Schroeder, Giannis Antetokoumpo 1st-round promises today. Antetokoumpo will be in Europe next season, so I wonder if that tells us anything about which team gave him the promise.

I think the only mid-to-late team I see needing a PG is Dallas, I suspect they gave Schroeder the nod.

I got a question for the Burke guys here. Is the desire to draft him based on the hope that he's this year's CP3 or something?

Those Burke measurements are better than I was expecting, and of the top prospects, he seemed to be the only one who could speak english so I'm warming up to him.

I've said all along, despite what I want, I think Henny picks McLemore. Whether we're in that position at 2,3, or 4, or if they go for him with #1, I think he's the guy for Henny.
