It's possible Fournier is friends with Paul George, i remember seeing them in photos together last year in the Turks and Caicos.

On another note, we can’t use a draft pick but we will extend a qualifying offer to Gary Clark while waiving Iwundu and Frazier?

Either Weltman is full of ****, or he’s planning something.

Knowing his track record I’d say it’s the former.

Why arent we signing yp those undrafted players just to evaluate them? Are our roster spots that full?

Nice idea, but there's no easy path for Fournier to get to Milwaukee without Ilyasova's contract, who the Bucks just waived.

I think he's going to take a minor pay cut this upcoming year to lock in a big salary for next season and maybe beyond.

Something like 2/55 or 3/75.

I’m betting we trade Fournier to Denver for Gary Harris straight up or Will Barton + filler.

The rumor is Phoenix, Clippers, or Denver.

There's nothing minor about 9 mil but I think you're right about the type of contract he'll command. He must have really hated it in Boston.

I think he is going to get 4/100 from one of these teams looking for veteran leadership.

I’m not buying that Evan rumor. Since when do Evan caliber players dictate where they would like to go? Maybe that’s who we’ve been in contact with but no way is Evan dictating his destination.

Could've been a deal where he said he intended to opt out and join another team but new the market for FAs is low this year so took the guaranteed money if we promised to ship him to one of his team's so we can get something in return for him. Rather than us trying to replace him with just the MLE.

You guys are setting yourself up for disappointed with the Evan rumor. He just bought a new house here, he is not going to be demanding a trade.

I thought about that scenario too but it just doesn’t make sense. Evan just isn’t good enough for that to make sense unless there has been some tampering going on and he knows those teams would have playing time for him and would be willing to pay him $17 mil... all while being willing to give us assets for him. It just doesn’t seem realistic to me.

I desperately want these Evan rumors to be true, but we're Magic fans. . . Nothing good ever happens to us.

Gordan haywood sign and trade for Gordon incoming?
Sign SRP to (1.2M) and Cain (2.5M)
use UP to the Full TPMLE (~$6.1M)
Spend up (11M$ - the amount we spent on the TPMLE)
waive + stretch Jonathan Isaac

Suggs,AB,Jase
Bane,GTJ,AB
Franz,TDS,Cain
P5,Prince,Penda

I don't know if it's a matter of him being 'that good' but more that his skill set is in demand. High percentage shooter who is tall, is a capable to good with handles and passing, can defend. He's exactly what contending teams are looking for right now, even if only as depth. Danny Green, Shamet, Bogdanovic - that's more or less Fournier's profile.

But most of those teams can't pay $17M a year or afford that through free agency so he needs a trade to get there for that money. Now he's just seeing which teams are prepared to pay the price for that.

Interesting little nugget

OH HELL YES!!!! HALELUJAH IF TRUE!!!

I never expected Evan to force his way out. Last thing on my mind. Christmas could be coming early!

Wonder what sparked this. Does he feel threatened in terms of playing time? Tired of losing? How is Vuc taking this news?

This was my first thought too lol. I always liken Vuc and Evan to Cuttino Mobley and Steve Francis.

I wish this was an option prior to the draft.

Whatever... let’s find a two way wing.

He wants to be wanted ... but also keep his $17M.

We just drafted a replacement for him and clearly have no interest in keeping him beyond this year.

If all of this is true, opting in is still not a bad idea for Evan. That contract is more tradeable/more likely to land him on a contender. And if he did get traded, the team he ends up on could always sign him to an extension immediately. But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if his agent was like, "you want to go to a contender? opt into this big expiring contract. Don't force a team to pay you big up front."

Why are people high on Gary Harris? He played more minutes than Evan did last year and had lower production. Shot worse from 3 too.

I'd be happy with it just for the simple fact that it would be something different for 1. But also the fact that it would mean the ball would be almost exclusively in Fultz and Vuc's hands. I'd much rather have that than the 4th quarter "heroics" from Fournier.

Fournier is a clutch shooter and scorer in the 4th, but not when he's the one creating for himself and others. More like when he's spoon fed the shot from somebody else.
