Right now the Magic need forward depth more than wing depth. A trade of this sort needs to include Payton, as the Magic is desperate for PG depth.

Burks and Payton for Aminu and what? It would not be a draft pick. Ennis and Clark as expiring is about all Orlando could add to this. And that's why it is hard to see where this trade idea goes.

Frankly this is not that grand of a design. Fournier will likely leave next off-season and Gordon is the best asset the Magic has to "improve" and is probable to be the center of any trade deals.

Also: your vision has Orlando retaining three starters for next season. That is not a major overhaul.

The Magic needs consistent scoring and accurate shooting from the SF slot. That does not exist now and is for me this team's greatest priority moving forward (pun intended???).

Um.
Guys the Magic front office aint going to do diddly squat.
Maybe sign a G-league player and run it back again.

These delusional idiots think "this is a contending playoff team"- there is nothing we can do except accept we suck, the franchise is awful, the front office is a clownshow and ownership doesn't care. Good think we have Youtube to watch the glory days of the franchise.

We are 2 loses away from being out of the bubble.
after LAC tonight, we have 2 against TOR and 2 against CHI.
I would guess we go 2-3, but if we go 1-4, we done.

We are the Milwaukee Bucks when our GM was there. Barely good enough to make the playoffs as a 8 seed and that's acceptable to him.

BTW, is ANY team gonna trade? Or are we all waiting for the trade deadline?

When is the trading deadline anyway? I wanna see some changes.

2 more months of agony waiting to see who will be our new guys?

Or only end up getting blue-balled cuz we let Evan walk away and we run it back next year?

Weltman is just delusional when it comes to evaluation of current players. That's my only logical take on situation.
You look at Gordon, he might be marginally better ( probably not better at all ) than Harrison Barnes, Wiggins, Gallinari.
He isn't even better than Randle, Turner or Zach Lavine, who are in his ballpark of salary.

Guys who he is comparable to are Rubio, Levert,Schroer, Eric Gordon.
Magic flat out WON'T get lottery pick for him ,and he will just become exp. contract next year and his value will sink even further.

You look at Gordon, 13,8 ppg, 7 rpg, 4 apg, 42% FG, 36% for won't fool anybody as long as he shoots 60% FTs and has career 53% TS , and this year it's 52,2% ( at this moment). He is replacment level ,funcional, fine, starter. Pretty much nothing more than Fournier.

You can't just refuse to trade them just because you think they are worth something NOBODY is offering you. Their value is highest value that anybody is williing to pay, not what you think it should be. It's basics of economy 101.

There is no single nba team in nba that "needs" Evan or Gordon. Ofc teams would like to add them, they won't hurt them, but there is nobody that is desparate for any of them. IT will be disaster not to trade them this year.

We now have the worst pt differential in the East. 4th worst in the total league.
If they can't win 2 of their next 4, it is over. 2 against TOR and 2 against CHI.
TOR & CHI have to be looking to get both against us, as it will push them closer to playoffs.

Exactly...FO needs to be more strategic in team-building even if it means losing value on a deal.

Gordon is really a great defender and that's why he's probably our biggest trade asset.

no, he really isnt. not sure where this myth that Gordon is some great defender came from. he is good at time, bad many times. cant provide rim protection. he isnt a "great" defender

I'd just be really happy if AG brought back a young guy with decent size who can spread the floor from any position but Center. I also think AG (depending on landing spot) has his best ball ahead of him. If we don't move him this year, I believe next year will be his "I'm outta here" distraction season and we risk losing him for very little or nothing...If we could get some cap room flexibility back at the same time, even better...I still like AG to BOS for Nesmith (and TPE or some expiring filler) or similar "lesser" but better fitting player for the future with Isaac, Vuc, Fultz.

Two seemingly realistic trades that re-shape our team...
Evan for Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart from NOLA
Gordon and '21 2rp for Beasley and McDaniels from MIN

Next year...
Ball/Anthony/MCW
Fultz/Hart
Beasley/TRoss
Isaac/McDaniels/Okeke
Vucevic/Bamba/Birch

BUT just think about the culture we are building this year. Toxic losing culture, giving it your all everynight and coming up WELL short due to ineptitude.

I thought this season could be a step back (get a nice player in draft) to take a leap forward. I am starting to think it might just completely blow up on it's own.

I have zero faith in the FO and Clifford's evaluation of talent, and really just basketball in general.
The media needs to go too...watching this game, and asked what went wrong, "Just one of those games, man, you know Kawhi and George were rested" Are you kidding me.

Nothing but excuses from the Front office, to coaching, to players, to the broadcast team, to the writers, to the bloggers, to the podcasters, to the fan base.

It's one of longest lasting Orlando myths.

He is not terrible on ball defender because he is athletic enough to recover ( but still does lot of mistakes) but as team defender, he is pretty poor one, constantly out of position and ball watching.
In general Gordon never really helped Magic defense or offense.
