I doubt that would even get Doncic. You would have to add Franz(and I would) to that equation too.

Probably. I originally had him in there. It's a moon shot to be sure...but there have to be cracks forming in that Dallas foundation.

If he actually wanted out, we should have the assets to make that trade. A generational player like Doncic would command such an incredibly high price.

The closest thing in recent history is Anthony Davis. 2 recent 2nd overall picks and, #4 overall pick, and a couple future firsts and a swap. Davis was probably viewed pretty close to top 5 player at the time, but was a bit older with more leverage.

Trading for Luka would put us in the same hole the Mavs are in now.

You need to have a 2nd option like Franz also. Luka is mad all the time, and apparently, its so difficult to find someone who is willing to take the backseat. It was discussed in Hoop Collective pod a few months ago.

first rounder to me....still has some rough edges to his game to smooth out but at the very least he's a shot creator

Do we really need to add more youth to this team?

Hypothetically we got the 1st pick and the 12th pick, what is the best player/immediate impact package you can get for Wemby basically? Shai? Haliburton? Ant? Cade+Bey? JSJ+Green? I have no idea what is realistic because I think those all might be.

The best package you can get for Wemby is to take Wemby. Period. The only exception is if the team who has No. 2 offers you that pick and five future first rounders or something like that. If Wemby or Scoot are on the Magic in a year, we have enough talent to win a title eventually. Putting it together and developing the right chemistry is another thing, but this draft has two ridiculous talents at the top. Don't pass on them if we get lucky.

The pistons are winning, so that'll put us in last place.

This is like Cavs fans back in 2003 asking if they could trade their #1 pick (LeBron) for Steve Francis or Shareef Abdur-Rahim... stop it.

Jett Howard. I'm posting here partly because he plays for Michigan and partly because he's a 6'8 shooter. He's not in the first round on tankathon but he's #14 on ESPN with Givoney. Son of Juwan Howard, of course.

The videos are both about 3 weeks old

i get what you're saying but it's the talent we really need....plus the only what impact player is out there for us? i guess we just have to wait for a disgruntled star to want out somewhere

Houston might pull this win out vs the Suns.

Will leave the Magic with the lowest win total in the league.

Looks like another pretty good game for Jabari Smith! Glad to see him playing well. I still sometimes wonder about the alternate universe where we draft him and this becomes Franz's team. Anyway, I prefer this reality! 8-)

I'm happy to see Jabari Smith putting it together, and he will be a good player. I was on the Jabari bandwagon before the draft but I'd say I prefer the Paolo timeline as well.

Houston gave the Suns 4 shots on the last possession for the game including a wide open mid range jumper and somehow pull out the victory. Insane.

If you actually watch his games, he hasn't been that good. Horrible shot selection, settles way too, can't create. He really needs to stay in school another year or two.
