Mathematically impossible. He has to play in 100% of games played.

I know what you meant it just sounded funny....

Well 90% of the times that happens everytime..

Me too, especially one as big as this.

The Bosh ones are all good, but this one is actually keeping me up at night.

I mean, you go for Chris Paul, but really, how is his knee. That guy makes a living of his leaping ability for rebounds, his speed for penatration and thievery. It's a concern, not that I wouldn't pull the trigger, I'm just saying I honestly haven't heard any reports on how he's doing this summer.

The article I quoted was dated yesterday. If it's accurate, as of right now he can't play. But he's not on crutches!

I'm refeshing my twitter, realgm (along with this thread), the Ozone, Orlando Pinstrpied Post, and Fanhouse w/ Povtak and Sam Amick, and following the heck out of adrian wojnarowski (from yahoo).

When I mean refeshing, like every 4-5 mins. On my off day's, (today and tomorrow) I will not be getting any sleep

It's not looking good guys, this all seems to be dying down. I have a bad feeling this isn't happening. The Hornets owner seems to be all about Paul.

from Rev (Ozone)

This is not from Magical, but another source who has a more spotty track record, but I've been told the counter offer is Chris Paul/Okafor for Jameer/Vince, then TPE for Posey.

Imo, this is/has to be the deal. Makes a ton of sense from both sides, as in what both teams are trying to achieve/want.

actually, one could argue that this is better. maybe both sides are trying to keep real hush hush while they work out the deal. the more we know, the less likely this gets done imo.

I actually like that deal more. I know Okafor's contract sucks, but he could really be helpful if we're parting with Marcin. Anything to get CP3. Okafor should not be a deal breaker for the best pg in the league.

I really don't know what to say to this. Paul is a top five player int the NBA. Orlando would trade their roster (-Howard) for Paul. Collison is "a nice PG." But Nelson is also one of those.

Paul played 45 games this season and I really believe they showcased him at the end of the season to show that he was or could return to normal.

My concern if we got him is that his knee injury is not like Gilbert Arenas' where it's actually gonna have to be drained, time off, etc. just for him to come back too early and miss significant time.

Collison is really really good.

The second their GM said, "Well my counter offer is..."

I would jump in and say where do I sign.

Plus he will be a free agent in 2 yrs so the Hornets will be faced w/ loosing him anyway due to not having the squad to compete for a championship. Might as well trade him now too clear the cap space and get a couple good players in exchange while they can.

There is little doubt in my mind that it makes financial and long term sense for the Hornets. They take a few bad seasons with cheap contracts in order to draft some guys later on and rebuild until the franchise is financially secure, etc etc...

Obviously their fans would detest anything of the sorts (as they should)... and I would really hate to be the guy to deal Paul if they're going through with it, especially in that city...

Kind of depressing really :(

Their GM is in the same position Hockey Guy was in...

One GREAT superstar but there just is not enough around him and they don't have the resources or pieces to build further. They are stuck. They can't get better unless they trade one of their PG's.

I am sure they are looking for deals where they ship out Collison in order to get Paul help. If they can't find anything good enough, I think that is when they pull the trigger on trading Paul.

Honestly, if New Orleans' GM countered with that offer, I'd accept it in a heartbeat if I were Otis.

Just think about it, the only thing keeping you from having the best PG and the best Center in the entire NBA is giving up VC and Jameer; JUMP ALL OVER THAT OTIS!

Not to mention if we get Okafor, we could then trade Gortat for something else. Gortat would suddenly become expendable in that scenario.

Tell me about it.

I was going online on my cell phone all day today at work hoping to see the headline "BREAKING NEWS: All-Star PG Chris Paul traded to Orlando Magic."

On a semi relevant note, do we have any interest or value outside of expirings to give for Big Al in the most likely case that we aren't even close to serious talks for Paul? :P

Great player but I am not sure Howard and Jefferson would play well together. Both are back to the basket guys. If we lucked out and got Bosh, at least he is more of a face up offensive player.
