From Rudolph this morning:

MisterRudolph Jarrod N Rudolph
Sources have gone dark as talks of a LA Superpower gain steam. Says to me that wheels are turning and something is going to happen soon.

I understand LAL's thinking, but if I'm a GM I don't move my HOF guard or HOF center for an All-Star, in Bynum's case a potential All-Star.

Leave it to Otis to trade Dwight. That would cap off a hell of a run for him.

Have a feeling Otis is trying to find the balls to tell the media he's trading Dwight.

It seems everyone is under the assumption Howard is going to get traded.

I absolutely hate everything bout the Lakers right now ..

They (& ESPN) really assume they can get everything they want for nothing .. When will they realize their time is over. NOBODY will give the Lakers another present, just like nobody will give Miami a present ..

I'd really prefer to let Dwight walk than to trade him to LA. The thought of them stealing another franchise Center from Orlando is mind-blowing ..

And if Dwight really wants to be traded there, ok .. But then they have to take Arenas & Hedo, & give us Gasol AND Bynum :)

That's the way Otis should play it if Dwight really wants a trade to the Lakers

If every super star goes to L.A., Miami and NY, our chances at a ship a virtually zero.

Even ESPN seemed convinced the Magic could get the Lakers to take Arenas.

A change of address would be in order if he does something like that. You dont trade a player like Howard. I want no part in making another team a contender. They can keep their trash, id rather have a bad team play hard every night then have a bunch of mediocre "allstars".
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

Otis should counter every Laker offer with "ok, you want Dwight, we want Kobe" ..

Let them know we are NOT gonna trade Dwight to LA ..

I would never trade for Kobe, he's too old.

So we'd have...

Jameer
JJ
Odom
Gasol
Bynum

backups of

Duhon
????
Qrich
Anderson
Bass

and we'd be at 77 mil in payroll. Interesting the Hollinger trade effect is -11 wins for LA and -1 for Orlando in this scenario. Lakers would be at 92 mil in payroll with no depth, add CP3 and they'd be at 112 and would pay like 50 mil in luxury tax. Haha

Bynum/Gasol/Picks yeah .. Odom won't be motivated to play in Orlando .. Not enough Kardashians in Orlando

Yes but isnt odoms deal only partially guaranteed? we would have a TON of capspace next season and still have the amnesty we could use on Gasol in a year or two if he rapidly declines, also I think Bynum has a team option next season as well

If I am Otis Smith the last thing I do is consider LA...Why in the hell would we stack that team to be Miami West for a bunch of soon to be washed up Lakers? Not interested in making the Lakers Big 3 2.0...if LA comes calling Otis needs to demand Kobe and not back off, then if we have to trade Dwight, trade him to Jersey, I'd rather score some younger talent they have and get some cap room, suck for a year and get a decent draft picks. LA has NOTHING Otis should want. Bynum is a headcase, and Gasol and Odom are slowly getting the words "Declining" and Decrepid" etched on there foreheads.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

News on the meeting today (Dwight/Otis) *OP UPDATED*

Post#337 » by Kevaroo » Tue Dec 6, 2011 3:26 pm

LA doesn't have the pieces, why is everyone freaking out? No news can sometimes be good news. This forum is so ridiculous, everyone was so positive yesterday, now everyone is down in the dumps. Stop watching Espn of course they are going to blow up the Lakers scenario. They want everyone but they won't get it. And as much as I hate Otis I think he will do the right thing with Dwight.

From what i understand, you cant amnesty a player acquired via trade. Only a player on your current roster and that is under contract already.

If Dwight intends to leave, then I truly believe that the Magic and the city of Orlando would make more money one last season with Dwight than 3 years without him. I say keep him regardless.
