It hasn't been reported earlier that Beasley and Howard are good friends or anything, but considering Berger is reporting that both the Nets and Magic are interested in his services in hopes of wooing Howard, there must be something there. It'd be interesting to see what the Magic are offering in return.

For those keeping track, by the way, the Magic now join the Nets, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers as teams that are interested in Beasley's services.

SB Nation proposing that maybe Dwight would like to play with Beasley. Perhaps Dwight told the FO to pursue Beasley.

Alex Kennedy is the worst, he just sits on twitter all day, waits for something to be reported than takes that, changes 2 words, and reports it as his own. And if it's a slow news day, he just says the most obvious statement than backtracks from it by saying why it might not happen for he can't be wrong. Hoopsworld needs to be shutdown.

I know it's Alex Kennedy... but I'm really starting to think Beasley is going to be in a Magic uniform... and maybe another team or two will be involved

Any discussion on Josh Smith? Demanding a trade. Played AAU with Dwight. Not sure how we'd fit it in without giving up Ryan. I still am not sold on whether or not Ryan will be able to produce without Dwight. They always say to sell high...

Memphis probably will not agree to this deal but if Zack Randolph is not looking good to make it for the playoff then they could bite but its a long shot at best

Why would the Cavs trade Sessions for Orton and Duhon?

low salaries that doesn't hurt their Cap Room and they get a project player in Orton
thelead wrote:Lets be clear here. There is NO WAY Memphis gives up their starting point guard for Glen Big Baby Davis.

Mayo is a bench guy not their starter( Conley is) but i know they probably won;t go for this deal just like i said in the original post

I know Mayo is a bench guy. You traded Conley (their starting pg) in that picture.

No news here, but I was wondering anyone else's opinion on this
Jarrod N Rudolph ‏ @MisterRudolph
While Josh Smith on the Magic works in 2K12, I don't think it's the best move for Orlando at this time. They need a SG and SF

Jarrod N Rudolph ‏ @MisterRudolph
Josh Smith looks good on paper, but doesn't fill the Magic's needs. They need a guard that can create and a back-up big.

Jarrod N Rudolph ‏ @MisterRudolph
Magic won't win more games w/ Josh. They'll only look different as the win the same # of games. This isn't AAU, they need Nash or Ellis

Personally, I think if we were to get Ellis, we'd have to give up pieces that would cause deficiencies in other positions initially, but he's still the best complement to Dwight. Smith may not necessarily win us more regular season games, but he's definitely more reliable than Hedo and will likely keep Dwight in Orlando.

Is this supposed to happen soon or is there no indication on the rumors? Anyone sitting tonight's game?

Pft, what we need is for Nelson and Hedo tp play better and for Baby and Duhon to get off thhe team. A lot of the Beasley scenarios address our biggest needs tbh.

Magic playing it smart with the Dwight situation. If he decides not to re-sign should he not get traded, he'll be crucifixes by fans everywhere akin to what LeBron went through.

Not necessarily. He made the team aware of his plans and gave the team the opportunity to trade him. Lebron never gave his team an idea of his plans ahead of time.

Beasley would be a good pick-up, especially if the asking price is as low as it's been reported. And FWIW it was Berger who reported Orlando's interest in Beasley not Kennedy.

Beasley would become our second best player. Seriously.

Oh yeah definitely... no one would disagree... We all saw what he did in college and his first 3 season in Miami and Minny... he's an extremely talented kid... it's just he has maturity issues and his b-ball IQ is inconsistent... one game he "gets it" and he's playing smart and putting up great numbers... the next game he falters on defensive rotations, volume shoots/stat pads, and makes boneheaded attempts (on and off the court).

But I will say this about Beasley.. he can post up, face-up, spread the floor, and create a shot for himself... maybe not create for OTHERS, he isn't that player (yet)... but he can definitely get off a shot for himself and get to the basket.

I believe under a good head coach he can be a very good player... under Coach Spro in his rookie season he put up 15/6/1.3/1/.6 in 30mpg on 45fg% shooting (6/13). A couple seasons ago as the default first option A & B (next to Love) he put up 19/6/2.2/.7/.7 in 32mpg on 45fg% shooting (8/17).

So he's consistent in that regard; he can SCORE. This season his attempts and minutes are way down (9-10 a game and 44fg% shooting; and 24mpg).

I think if he was traded here to Orlando (and we somehow keep Ryan), Beasley can definitely be a combo forward (play both SF and PF) and put up good numbers. As long as Beasley can SCORE off the dribble and create for himself when our offense is stagnant (our spot up shooters are covered, and Dwight can't score on the block during late game pressures), I think he could be a good pick-up.

Unfortunately, I worry that we might give up Ryan for him :-?. Which I'm not too sure I would do that. I would try to pawn off J-Rich, BBD, Duhon, etc; anyone but Ryan in order to get Beasley. Plus Beasley on our team will help transition the move of Hedo to the bench (thank God).
