In case you guys didn't get the memo, our organization doesn't know how to draft.

A draft can make or break a franchise. It can set franchises back for years. This is the reason we have no youth, explosive players, athleticism, etc.

Look at the Spurs, they are ALWAYS competitive because they know how to draft. Parker, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard..etc

I fully expect us to f**k this draft up as well.

Cry me a river. The poll has enough wings in it, and some others on this board have talked about both Moultrie and Nicholson.

We only had 2nd round picks in 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011. We traded our 2009 pick.

So not too bad during Otis' tenure - much like as his entire tenure; it started off pretty good and then went down hill since.

While Otis was in the FO, we also got Varejão, D12 and Jameer.

Danny Green was drafted by the Cavs and Indiana drafted Kawhi only to trade him for George Hill.

I fully expect some great prospects to fall to #19, only to have us draft a 7'8 Norwegian lumberjack with 7 toes and 37 minutes of rec league experience.

Add Gortat to that list as well. Just sayin....

I too have some excitement for our future in this draft. Hoping we pick up a SF/PG. Wouldn't mind a PF if there is one good enough.

We need a PG or a SF, we just have to draft a guy who plays in another position if he is the BPA by far.

Quincy Miller def has some KD in him & if he is there at 19 he could be the STEAL of the draft. Dude has so much potential & he could have put up even better numbers last year if he didn't tear his ACL during his senior season of high school. Im sure he didn't have his entire burst back for most of last year, but I have a feeling he will light up the combine & move up towards the top 10 before its all said & done.

I don't get why you would bring up JJ as a good pick. We used a lottery pick to get a career role player that took us 3 years to develop into a rotation player. Players of JJ quality are everywhere. Some notable players drafted after JJ are Sefolosha, Rondo, Lowry, and Paul Millsap. So no, I don't consider JJ as a good pick at all.

Courtney Lee was the only good pick otis made, every other picks were trash. I guess the jury is still out on Harper and Liggins.

You can consider that not a good pick, that's up to you.

Teams before us passed on those names you mentioned and took Adam Morrison, Patrick Bryant and Sene instead.

Mindaugas Kupsas can be a really interesting player in a few years. Showing more than I expected

Jonathan Givony ‏@DraftExpress

Dominique Sutton is injured and has been replaced by Jordan Theodore. Lithuanian Mindaugas Kupsas measured 7-2 in shoes.

Simonas Baranauskas ‏@LithuaniaBasket

@teamziller @DraftExpress And 255 lbs, if anyone's interested...

Those teams made mistakes too, I didn't said Magic was the only one. To build a team effectively, we need to avoid being one of those teams.

The draft is a great way to build a deep, strong team, but otis's approach to it is shameful. He doesn't interview players or bring them in for workouts, that's just plain stupid. The sooner we fired this idiot, the quicker we can rebuild.

He is basically Boris Diaw. Extremely similar in skill set and body type. So it depends on how high/low you regard Diaw.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Its really not a character issue and he is not bipolar he just has a really extreme aniexty disorder and a big fear of flying. He did have some issues at Minny but since leaving that school he has had a clean slate.

As far as drafting Royce, I really wouldn't mind Royce because he is a truly skilled big man and could become a point forward in the nba. It isn't every day that you see a 6'8" 270 lb man handle the rock like he does and he could become a true asset on any team.
