If that's true, then it really won't surprise me if we just roll the dice on him and see if he changes his mind again which at this stage is very possible.

It's completely absurd assumption. There is no difference between trading him today and trading him in like 3 months. He won't play a game until November 1st. If he's still rehabbing, he'll likely have a limited role in training camp as well.

Very true, I agree with you. When Dwight opted in, he gave power back to the Orlando Magic. We could trade him today or trade him during the season. I'm convinced that Henny will pull the trigger when he believes it is for the best.

For my Magic peeps... wrap your head around this concept... All things must fit the new culture. Team work. Humility. Sacrifice

That explains the Jameer and Redick decisions, and likely means we will hold onto Big Baby.

It's a little silly for Kyler to call this a "new" culture. Sure, last year was a joke with the Dwight saga, but when this team was making deep runs into the playoffs under SVG it was known as being an energetic team, that ran an actual unselfish offensive system as opposed to the isolation plays most teams run.

All this crap is just revisionist history because of the last season.

Ryan Anderson? Couldn't have a higher quality human being on the team. In the end, the new system is cheap players that produce like higher-paid players in same positions.

Now we're right back where we were before the ETO. This guy is acting like we're 42 games into the season or something. There's 100+ days left before Dwight even plays a game, and imo, just about all of those days count for nothing in the bargaining room.

Someone should tell this guy the season doesn't start for 4 months. Anyone who thinks the offers will get any worse between now and then isn't thinking straight.

Yep just like how the Spurs operate which will be awesome if we can emulate that type of structure.

I only see one team who could possibly convince Howard to sign and that is Atlanta. Even then I doubt he goes there.

Houston, LA, Nets, etc all have to meet our demands if they truly want Howard and that is a cold hard fact.

Fegan?

Lose Howard for nothing? I'd like to see Dwight walk away from 25 million in a tax free state. I'll believe it when I see it. :D

Much was made of the belief that if Dwight found his way to New York, Chicago or LA that his Adidas related income could double. Some claimed Chicago was questionable since their other top guy (Rose) is already well established in that market. While none of those teams are able to sign him outright, the Dallas Mavericks could (which Dwight has expressed interest in). I would be interested to see the projections for how Adidas values the Dallas / central Texas market. If it is even half what they value New York or LA, then Dwight makes back that $25M very easily.

Yeah it will be a lot of fun to just talk basketball instead of this stupid soap opera storyline that we are currently going through right now regarding Dwight Howard.

I dream about that day.

I agree, will be an awesome day when we can go back to it

Exactly. There is zero reason Bynum wouldn't resign here. Makes ZERO sense. Of course he might rather stay with the Lakers because they are primed for a run right now - but once he realizes he's being dealt, of course he'll sign for the max to get a chance to be a #1 option on a team with no state income tax.

Being the man doesn't matter he just wants the max dollars and he can get that anywhere. Why go through a rebuild?

Except he can't sign a max contract with LA or NY in the offseason.

His options are very limited if he just wants to bolt and sign with a team with enough cap room.

Off Topic: Watching the Jeremy Lin Press Conference and I wish we could have this guy. He is very humble and he wants to play basketball. He seems like a good human being as Rob would say.

At what point do we consider him a journeyman?

5 years, 4 teams:
Orlando
NJ Nets
Houston
Boston

Well if he comes here it wont be a complete rebuild,

most centers his size start declining between the years 11-14 due to injuries or what ever. even though Bynum is 24 he has 7 years under his belt, so he is a seasoned 24 year old. after next season he will have 8 years. If he walks he can only sign for 4 seasons with a max of 4.5 % raise each season max if he stays he can sign for 5 seasons with a 7.5% per season raise max, so if he walks he leaves over 30 mil on the table. with his injury history and he will finish those contracts heading to his down side years 12-13 years in league he would be crazy to leave 30 mil on the table. Plus he has rings and yes he wants more but its not gonna be held over his head like Dwight

During the Jeremy Lin press conference, Les Alexander was asked if he was content with the current team and all of their rookies.
Les' response: "It would be stupid to be content. "

Steve Bulpett ‏@SteveBHoop
Celtics will send E'Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson, Sean Williams and 2nd rd pick in Courtney Lee trade. Those 3 won't play today.

That's a pretty large haul for the Rockets. I wonder if it affects us in any way. I mean, they've got a ton of forwards.
