Well you better welcome him soon after his arrival in Orlando because there is a good chance he spends most of the season on the sidelines using crutches.

sucks. I remember that day like it was yesterday, i had just finished 6th grade going into 7th. I wore my shaq jersey literally that whole week. Some how in my head i thought that would help lol. I remember some old white guy seeing me on the street with my buddy and he said "time to get a new jersey" and i looked right at him and said "shut up!" lol. My friend was rolling, the guy gave me the meanest look after hahaha.

I remember looking down my street and seeing all the Shaq memorabilia at the curb waiting for trash pickup. My dad let me burn this life-sized cardboard cutout of Shaq the Altamonte Magic Fanatic gave to me. Good times.

I really hope Dwight doesn't end up a Laker

1. I don't want Bynum
2. I want Dwight to be miserable
3. I don't wanna give LA ANOTHER franchise big!!

Taken from TBN. No link accompanied this, but sounds like it was from Beto Duran. Just a guess.

Dwight Howard stood outside a Dodger Stadium suite Tuesday night trying to decide what to eat off the dessert cart.

He took forever, and when he began to recite out loud, "eeny, meeny, miny, moe,"' I asked him if that was how he was going to pick where he played.

He mimicked as if he would, saying "this team and that team," but unfortunately stopping when his attention returned to the desserts.

Then his security guard got in my face and told me he does the talking for Howard. That will be fun if he comes to L.A.

A fan yelled to Howard, "Are you coming to L.A.?"

And Howard replied with the consent of his security guard, "I'm here now." He paused, and then added, "to rehab."

I asked about his back, which he had surgically repaired, and he said he will be fine for the start of the season, but he said he could not talk about basketball.

What else would you want to talk to Howard about?

A few minutes later the Dodgers showed Howard on the big screen in left field eating his dessert. He drew considerable applause, and I wonder what the reaction would be if they showed Andrew Bynum on the big screen.

The word around the Lakers earlier in the day was the team might know by Wednesday whether there is any reason to pursue Howard.

There was no meeting with Howard, as has been reported elsewhere, but they have been talking to the Orlando Magic steadily about Howard's availability.

The Lakers, though, now believe Orlando has no interest in Bynum, which has forced the Lakers' brass to look for a third team to place Bynum and secure what the Magic might take.

As for Howard, he settled on a huge caramel apple with M&Ms attached, and then also wanted a piece of lemon cake.

He does seem to want it all.

Interesting read on the Lin debacle including that the Knicks were searching for a handshake agreement with another team to take Lin off there hands before February's trade deadline. Sneaky.

The Knicks were still deliberating their decision in recent days, and there was no better sign of that fact than one of the team-to-team discussions they engaged in over the weekend. New York, according to sources, was considering matching the offer for Lin while also finding a handshake agreement with another team that they could, if they so desired, trade him before the February trade deadline as part of a contingency plan. In those discussions, the Knicks -- whose acquisition of Raymond Felton was the most obvious sign that Lin was on his way out -- had targeted specific point guards with whom they could swap Lin as a way to maintain depth at the position behind Felton and the recently-signed Jason Kidd.

Game changer? Lakers now willing to accept Howard without assurance he'll sign (probably already got assurance from him anyway and will hide it to save Dwight's image)

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/stor ... ght-howard\

But will Orlando take Bynum without a handshake agreement?

I actually don't have a problem with getting Bynum at this point, though, like most people here, I would prefer a fair trade occurring with Houston. I have no problem letting Duhon rot on the bench and keeping Davis here for his leadership. I just can't stomach seeing Hedo and Richardson in Magic jerseys anymore.

So league people saying other teams are fed up with Dwight because it's causing other business to get tied up? For real? There have been a ton of signings and almost everyone with talent in under contract.

Let him walk in the end.. If he dares. It feels like Bynum is seriously the last legitimate trade option now, and I don't think he has the health for a rebuild. I sincerely appreciate Henny sending him out west but I can't in good faith act like we're rebuilding for a title team if we giftwrap Dwight to a cap-laden team with no picks on top. It's plainly obvious any NBA Finals with the Lakers standing out for the west will have a nice plurality or second plurality chance of happening.

The team that gets Dwight is getting him with their own hard earned cap space (by gutting out of luxury and way below) or Dwight learns to love the Magic again with their max bird rights deal; which is entirely plausible based on 1) Orlando fanbase never booing him last year, 2) new roster players changing the locker room culture, 3) and an almost utterly brand new FO and coaching staff. Dwight will be immersed into a whole new Magic franchise this season, his frontcourt mates got more athletic and tougher (Nicholson, Ayon, O'Quinn), and a new coach should have the common sense to cut Duhon's minutes for a new PG while also giving JJ and Liggins more run. Even if it happens to sacrifice wins early, this younger rotation will be more dangerous by playoffs time.

I love our team this year, feels like by playoffs time we will be much more dangerous when Nicholson, Liggins, Ish are in the main rotation. Even the vets are talking very confidently about having a better year (Jameer, BBD, J Rich).

On This day, sixteen years ago, Shaquille O'neal signed a $120mil contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Would be hilarious if the Laker deal went down today, Howard doesn't wanna follow Shaq but gets traded to the Lakers on the same day Shaq joined the Lakers. lol

Then you are in serious denial and I am glad you play no role in the decision. Injured in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. But no chance, huh? Look, I have no desire to belabor the point or argue about it. He has a strong history of injury and he will command a heavy contract. If injury strikes him we are severely screwed. I do not happen to think we can take that chance. We agree to disagree. But it perplexes me when there are some who want Bynum so bad that they will ignore a strong possibility of further injury problems. If not for that, and his attitude, I would be in the "get Bynum column."
