Well nobody with any sense of logic would.
Also they might cut their current salaries, regardless of guaranteed contracts.

No matter what, salary cap will go down a lot in next year or two.

Starting week 3 of quarantine... I've begun re-watching our 2009 playoff run. Can't believe our PG rotation was Rafer and freaking Avery Johnson! Hedo was legit the original Luka. Rashard + Hedo was so unfair to every team. Still hate how much Dwight laughed on the court. What a time.

Update: just took a 3 hour nap and I woke up a little parched and dry in the mouth. Drank water. No coughing bout, no sweat. Just checked 100.5 fever. Woohoo

Sweat a little more and coughed a little more. But I'm heating this thing. Man, it feels good.

Kinda crazy how bad our PG rotation was but they got the job done after Jameer tore his labrum. Anthony Johnson played like he was 55 but he was a bad ass 3rd pg.

Johnson was very good defensively that year.

I remember Mo Williams doing something to punk Johnson in ECF, i can't remember the exact incident. The next game Williams got an incidental elbow from Johnson. It gave him stitches and a black eye.

The series before that House tried to punk Alston and he smacked him in the head.

They weren't great, but they were good defensively, and wouldn't be bullied.

No one deserved a couple stitches more. He was an irritating dude on the court.

The Eddie House thing is hilarious still.

Fournier is definitely picking up that $17 million player option. Hell, Ennis might even pick up his $2 million player option. Just a ton of uncertainty.

‪We dropped our latest Penny & Pops Podcast episode. The introduction of Magical Movies. ‬

"The talks between the players union and the league this week, I've talked to both sides of this issue, and it is clear that the NBA is angling to set up a deal that enables them to shut the season down," said Windhorst during an appearance on Sportscenter.

"Now they don't have to do that yet, and the way they're negotiating they're leaving themselves an option either way, but they're not having talks about how to restart the league, they're having financial talks about what would happen if the season shuts down, and I think there is a significant amount of pessimism right now," added Windhorst.

Windhorst pointed to the Chinese Basketball Association delaying their season as a blow to the NBA's hopes, citing a potential second wave of positive COVID-19 tests in the country caused by asymptomatic carriers.

The CBA delayed the start of their season earlier this week.

"It's been a bad week," said Windhorst. "I think there was optimism about progress a week ago. Some things that have happened this week have turned it south about what could happen. A big factor was what happened in China where they halted the return of their league."

This will be first cancelled season since 1996 when players lost talent to Monstars and MJ had to save everybody playing for Looney Toons

Anyway, serious and jokes aside, it will be right decision. Playing "same" season with bigger gap than gap between regular season is simply not fair , logical or regular

Have we just simmed through this season then? It's fine for me, we're still in the development years. Can we sim the next two as well and just pick up where Isaac, Fultz and Bamba are all starting to play at high levels?

Gonna be weird not having a championship team from the season. Was a weird one anyway with all of KD, Curry etc out most of it anyway. Didn't feel complete.

Yea we pretty much NBA 2K-ed "My league" mode. Sim all games
Indeed it was awkward season to being with, for starters, defending champions lost MVP in free agency.
Other finalist lost 3 HoF due injuries/Fa.

If both pick up their deals, this is the starting point for the 2020/21 Magic (if there is a season of game play).
I will assume that Orlando does not pick up Frazier's year under anything less than as filler in a SnT (i.e. he cannot be a Magician next year).

Fultz
Fournier/Ross
Isaac/Ennis/Okeke
Gordon/Aminu
Vučević/Bamba/Birch

So: a huge push to sign Carter-Williams. And then draft pick would be about depth. But that's not a bad start going in to a Summer revamp of a roster. The Magic has loads of starters and depth is still evident.

Thought line though: if the FA signing season is truly awful from the players perspectives, would Augustin sign a two year LLE type deal? Or is that Carter-Williams' to be had? I am very confident the Magic will vamp out their PG rotation on the cheap.

I actually like the Aaron Gordon song and music video (even if Wes, Mo, and Mo's dog have 1-second cameos).

The Magic are really moving along with that health-practice facility. They're looking to gain permission to break down in June, and have it all done September 2021. That's a huge recruiting tool if you can get that done.

Latest Penny & Pops Podcast episode is out.

You can listen on any platform.

Keeping ‘Magical Movies’ going, we did the 106-104 comeback Magic win over the soon-to-be champion San Antonio Spurs on February 9, 2007. It's the Dwight dunk game, but Jameer and Redick come up big.
