ohhhh Batum?!?!

He's definitely not the player he was, but I'd love him here. Even while old and slow, he's still better than what's available on the market for a short-term solution at SF.

Come on Nemanja Bjelica is 32 Yr old
Sign SRP to (1.2M) and Cain (2.5M)
use UP to the Full TPMLE (~$6.1M)
Spend up (11M$ - the amount we spent on the TPMLE)
waive + stretch Jonathan Isaac

I feel like someone is going to bring up Buddy Hield, which I'm not against, but I also wonder if people realize that Hield is like a month younger than Evan. I do think that Hield is a better player, but I think he has a bit more baggage that comes with him. I'm not totally against Hield, I'm just not as hot on him as some of the posters here are.

Just learned that Nemanja Bjelica has a nickname of "Belly." Hmm.

More seriously, trading Fourier for Bjelica means that i) Ross starts and that, baring another trade, Bjelica is the Magics starting SF. The dude is a career 40% long-ball shooter and having hime and Ross next to Fultz and Gordon will be a gosh-send for us Magic fans.

..

Belly is such an awful nickname. Nem, or NB, IDK. Anyway, he's a plodder but the guy can flat out score. Its too bad he stayed overseas so long before coming to the NBA.

Teske is just a guy.

A 7'1" senior center out of Michigan. Nothing special.

Oh, I know who Teske is. I’m a religious Michigan basketball fan lol. My bias disagrees slightly. He can stretch the floor and block shots. I think he could potentially find a nice role as a 3rd big off the bench depending on how his shot translates. Not a game changer though for sure.

I think he has a couple years of averaging 20 left if he stay s healthy. I like Evan but that's what I always thought was holding us back, he just isn't consistent enough....if we could have a guard consistently average 20 we could flirt with top 4 in the East. I think it would be good for Evan's career to be more of a role player too.

I doubt there is an avenue without giving up Vuc too or just an avenue in general. Thought I'd throw it out thou..he opted out. I imagine he is going go to Indy.

but why would Hayward want to come here? he is likely going to prioritize winning

Scouting SF options ...

Josh Jackson is a free agent.

We could grab him cheap to fill the Wes Iwundu roll. If he can keep his head straight he has a much higher ceiling.

This past year was labeled a “redemption year” for him in Memphis. The stats are not eye popping but he lived up to his role and stayed out of the news.

There's just not something right between the ears with this guy. And with Weltman just praising high IQ players, I doubt Josh is on the list of targets.

I would definitely offer a 2nd chance to
Josh Jackson, would be funny to have the 1st and 3rd pick of the 2017 draft

I think cliff would like him

Maybe, but he did go though a lot of changes in Phoenix 4 coaches and a lot of roster turnover. I think i'd be tough for any rookie to gain traction. He did get into some legal trouble though. I wouldn't mind if they took a flier on him. He's definitely an NBA player talent wise.

Why so many nba fans have this awkward fascination with second changes and redemption stories of draft busts? I'm nba fan for 20 years, outside of Chandler there has been zero busts- turned useful in nba in that period and even Chandler, himself, went from unplayable 6 ppg to " look now he is good" 11 ppg , but was lucky enough to find his very limited, but somewhat useful role.

Guys like Jackson don't have any playing value. He is wild kid with troubled past that tends to be jerk at every corner and in same time very, very limited basketball player.
Once again. Roles. He was projected to be solid defender that will improve over time as shooter and very solid passing wing.
Except a fact nothing translated.
He can't really defend that well because he lacks any discipline, he can't shoot at all (29,8% for 3 , 65% FTs, 48,8% TS) and he commited more turnovers than he has assists in NBA.

Guy failed at every single thing was projected to be good, and lived up to every single negative word said about him.

Every time when on non playoff team you are being beaten for slot in rotation by late second round pick, and you are former lottery pick - your career is on a clock. Jackson's time is up.
Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. -John Lennon

IMO, a team of Hayward, Vuc, Isaac, Fultz, TRoss, Cole, Okeke, Bamba, etc could be top 5 in the East with a few good breaks

Nobody in the East is bulletproof...each of the current top 5 have questions, potential conflicts & personnel issues that could derail things. There are still moves happening but, to me, the East is wide open...we could be top 5 or out of the playoffs entirely depending on what happens soon. I’m all for Fournier and/or AG for a vet leader (or young prospects)

I love these redemption/salvage opportunities. Just don’t dive in with both feet and depend on them. They only raise your upside if you grab them and pray...where else does a middling, no cap space team score a big win? You can’t count on fleecing other GMs.

Only one at a time and make sure they come in humble. Once in a while you get lucky

Not worth it with his 'talent' level. One person can ruin the chemistry of a team.
