Most of our team is in Vegas.
Isaac, Harris, Okeke watching
Bamba, WCJ practicing
Anthony, Hampton, Suggs, Wagner playing SL
Good to see the teams togetherness.

Is it possible to discuss the theoretical shooters on this team and question if our roster construction is improving with those potentially good shooters?

When I say theoretical, I mean players I project to continuously improving their 3pt shooting and be reliable (at least 34%?) from that area in 2-3 years.

Suggs
RJ
Chuma
Wagner
WCJ/Bamba
JI?

Have we improved? Is it crazy to think these guys can be good shooters? I feel we need to add a pure knock-down shooter and we'll be ok, if these guys meet shooting expectations.

To be honest if anyone's job said they have a business trip to Vegas, I'm pretty sure every employee would be down lol.

Yeah. I had a layover in Vegas. I spent an hour or two there and never left the airport, but I felt I'd seen more than enough. We aren't all wired the same. I think Vegas would be one of the last places I'd ever willingly visit.

ive actually been there for a conference and did everything except the casinos. some golfing, shows, you can do some cheap stuff when you dont concentrate on the casinos. they make everything cheaper so you spend more time blowing your money (and i have been guilty of that in the past)

I never wanted to go to LV, however I went 3-4 years ago for a half a week and it was nice. I didn't gamble at all, but the shows and food were nice. I even went to old Downtown.

It’s been a few years for me. Next year is in Asia I think so may not make that one either.

I think everyone of those guys should be average or better shooters as they progress. Frankly, ignoring the centers, Suggs might have been the one I was most worried about and he has really impressed me so far. Especially with the 3s off the dribble.

Wendell was shooting 36% last year on .7 attempts a game before arriving in Orlando, and career 75% from the line. It's within reason that he will be a good shooter on volume at some point.

Bamba, i guess that is the idea...when your wingspan is 7'10" who knows how consistent you can be. That's a lot of arm and a lot of motion to get to your release point. Fair results so far, but really fell off late in the season last year, and the FT touch isn't there

Best scenario is we have two GOOD options to choose from...one to trade. Let's hope they both prosper

Different strokes for different folks.

I really want to attend AWS reInvent live. I keep attending the virtual stream every year because I have too many critical meetings, I can’t afford to take a full week off for conferences anymore. I send my underlings to reInvent or the Spark Summit.

I would love to go and nerd out at a tech conference again. That one just happens to be in Vegas every year. … so my reason for wanting to go is probably much different than most!! Although at my last big corporate company we did have some people get in trouble at reInvent while wearing company logos. *smh*

Usually it's who are you going with that matters than actual place (Las Vegas or otherwise).

I get too caught up in all this nonsense about player development. It's like day trading stocks, nitpicking every single little thing to death. Long term we may have 1 great player on our roster right now and tbh there's a slim chance of even that low bar being met. The question for me is, what is this team doing to get the player that we could not just buy on the free market? The reality is we could sign just about any of our guys from free agency if we have the money and cap space to do so. The average leading scorer per game in the playoffs, all teams combined, was 27.19ppg. Out of the entire playoffs, only 3 teams had a leading scorer score less than 20ppg and all three of those teams lost the series. Right now, the only guy we have that could potentially even sniff that rare air is Suggs and I don't even know about that as he's only played 3 games. I could tell you that I'm sure that not a single other guy on the roster is ever going to be that guy.

Day traders mindset, that is spot on and exactly my line of thinking regarding situation where we are. However, I think if we end up with 1 great player out of all those we drafted and signed now and are yet to acquire in the next 3 years, that is not a low bar - but a start of potentially successful rebuild.

Personally, I love Vegas.

But I also love gambling and drinking so being able to do both at the same time is especially appealing.

I went for the first time this year during the first weekend of March Madness. I don't gamble, but liked being in the environment for a weekend. It's a fun getaway when you're with friends.

I begrudgingly went with my family a couple weeks ago. I hadn't been there in 15 years. Totally a different place, but it probably is always changing. I loved playing craps and black jack when i was young, but i didn't gamble at all this go around, losing money is way wore than winning is fun for me. My wife did play enough slots for the both of us. Just shows, eating, and sightseeing with the kids.

We were out there the week the CDC changed the covid guidelines. The city totally changed overnight. It was weird.

They should make him the face/hair of a new Adidas Predator basketball range. Marketing match made in heaven.
And then it was said no one liked the Predator moniker I came up with last year. Still valid, Cole still looks like it. His recent play in SL however...a total mess.
