ORL sends: Fultz, 2 srps to TOR for GTJ (expiring audition)
And…ORL sends Gary Harris, Chuma, multiple srps OR DEN 25 frp to UTA for Kelly Olynyk, Kris Dunn (both expiring)

Dunn/Cole/AB
Suggs/Trent/Jett
Franz/Ingles/Houstan
Paolo/Isaac
WCJ/Olynyk/Goga

…better, but by how much? Dunn has actually been really good and is a fierce defender, Olynyk is a heady vet with obvious shooting but also a great ball-mover like a bigger Ingles. Could be magical chemistry without actually getting too frisky with picks or cap space. It would certainly marginalize Goga (as written) but the 4/5 rotation could be all over the place as several combos could work - not to mention injuries. If Suggs shows more on-ball capability…Trent could be the starter at 2 on a new (more reasonable) deal.

These actually seem like moves within the realm of possibility! Only problem is it doesn’t consolidate so we’d still be left with a glut of guys at spots. And I don’t think Utah bite just because Ainge is shrewd.

Olynyk is sneaky good, imo. He’s like Moe Wagner impact off the bench. But we’ve got Moe and WCJ and Goga already so one of them likely needs to be moved.

Dunn as a temp starter would be good for the kind of guy you’re happy to let walk if Black is ready to start next season.

Thinking about it and the checklist for determining a viable trade target should be:

1. Is an offball player?
2. Can defend?
3. High volume 3 point shooter?
4. Can include Fultz or Harris or both?

No. 1 is not a priority for me personally. I'm fine bringing in a point guard, even one under contract for a while and this is from someone who very much likes Anthony Black.

Clippers are lacking bigs.

Forget the Utah deal in this case. Dunn isnt a starter and Olynyk doesnt make sense when we have Goga, Mo and WCJ. Just deal with Toronto. Ill take GTJ and Schroder for Fultz, Harris, Denver 1st, and a 2nd or two.

Honestly, Brogdon feels like the perfect fit for all of our needs. Veteran experience, shooter, playmaker and facilitator, can play on and off ball, can defend well and has plus size. Seems ok either starting or coming off the bench. Short contract and not outrageously priced. Health is the only thing that’s iffy and our biggest Achilles heel.

We also need to consolidate some. Fultz + Harris + Wendell and maybe also Chuma going out for 1-2 guys would open up stable minutes for our remaining guys.

Brogdon is number one on my list. He’s so underrated. Can be had. Two way player.

Brogdon & Tyus Jones would completely change this team.

If the Magic is going to trade Fultz shifting Suggs to the PG slot, then yes Powell would be a nice SG on this roster. This proably means a third team so that Orlando trades out both Fultz and Carter for Powell and some other asset.

I don't think anyone (being realistic) is just casually shifting Suggs to the PG slot to solve our problems. Franz is a far better PG than Suggs - but also not a PG. It's a convenient solution in our minds - but not a realistic one.

We need a guard who can handle the ball and make plays. Suggs is off the ball.

Suggs has more energy for defense when he plays off the ball.

I'm still interested in Jalen Green. I see him as a Simons type player with a little less shooting and a little more defense. With his age, I could still see him making a leap with his shooting percentages. I'd want him to accept an extension in the same range as Simons before I traded for him.

The least ORL should do...

I hope we aim higher (Murray & Claxton, Simons, etc.), but at the very least, we should be in the running for one of these two very available players. Many teams should be interested, but either would suit us just as well or better. If we're to be considered a serious, relevant organization that cares about winning...one of these is the least we should be doing. In either case, I'd prefer lesser draft equity - BUT there will be multiple suitors, so pay up and get in the mix. It's okay to "lose a trade" by a little value (on paper). What's unforgivable is to "lose a season" because you just wait, pay salaries, and get no farther ahead as a team while your best guys approach massive extensions that will make it harder to build around them:

ORL sends Fultz, Chuma, DEN 25 frp (top 5), ORL 26 srp for Brogdon (I would think this gets it done quickly)

or, ORL sends Fultz, DEN 25 frp, ORL 24 srp for Tyus Jones

simple, limited scope (I'd love to expand to include Gafford and/or Kispert too) but two very doable deals...

Yeah...his star isn't shining so bright right now. But he can really score. He may not become MJ, but I'd peg his floor as a Cam Thomas type, scoring 15 ppg off the bench. I'd definitely inquire and see if there's an opportunity. I think his ceiling is still very high. I'm not at all sold on Suggs at PG, so I'm not really sure how the roster would shake out, but...

Cole, Chuma, DEN 25 frp for Green?
(have to give to get, this would be based on our assumption of what Green and Cole's likely ceilings are). I only include Cole as I'd envision AB rising to (at least) the backup PG spot - how would Brogdon/Suggs, backed up by AB/Jalen Green look? :o
