Rudy Gay and Josh Selby for J.J. Redick and Hedo Turkoglu???? TAKE IT AND RUN!

Why are the Grizzlies so quick to trade Rudy Gay? I don't understand why a Grizzlies blogger would insist this.

And we have such a surplus of 4's, not sure how Millsap fits in. I've always been a Millsap fan and he'd be our best 4, but it'd have to come with ditching some of the other 4's we got. Mainly Big Baby and Harrington.

Because the strength of the team is inside and Rudy Gay doesn't fit in well with their offense, he ISO's alot and the Grizzlies game is predicated on Conley/Randolph/Gasol. Gay would definitely help us but I would much rather try and sell them on A.A.....
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I just had a random thought brought on by the situation tonight where BBD had to leave the game and Harkless took the free throws.

Let's think back to game 4 of the 09 Finals. Magic up 3 in the final seconds and Dwight fouled. What if we had him fake an injury and leave the game, forcing Phil Jackson to choose another shooter? I mean, aside from Adonal Foyle, who I can't remember whether or not was on the active roster that night (probably was, admittedly), just about anyone would have had a better chance of making at least one free throw to put that game away.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Ish+ayon for Blair +Joseph make sense for both teams

We get a back up pg and a Pf/c to fit bbd injury

Not sold on Joseph. And Ayon is fine as PF/C with BBD injury, why bring in a new player that has to learn everything?

Some interesting quotes from JJ regarding his situation. From the sound of it, he likes the direction and his first choice is being a part of the recovery here.

Ayon is a very attractive expiring Center/PF which is a commodity while being dirt cheap. Magic should be able to get something good for him packaged with another player.

If you guys are trying to make a playoff run what about Gasol/Meeks for Afflalo/Turk.

You guys can make a playoff this season and easily trade Gasol on draft night because he will be a expiring contract. So it's a win/win situation for you guys.

What you think?

I don't see making a trade for another PF unless it's a big trade for a potential centerpiece. We've got Ayon, Nicholson, and McRoberts to help fill the void, or we could potentially swing Harkless over to the 4, start JJ and run a small lineup. As I recall, almost all of Moe's run at St. John's was at the 4.

Personally, I'd make that trade and walk away chuckling, assuming Gasol can pass a physical. He's stuck in D'Antoni's offense because DA wants Gasol to change his game from inside to outside, rather than adjusting his game plans to fit Gasol (which is just stupid in my mind, but maybe that's why I'm not an NBA coach and is certainl a different discussion).

Yeah there is nothing wrong with Gasol it's our stupid coach Dantoni doesn't know how to use him in the post he rather have him shoot 3's in the corner SMH.

So we might as well trade him because Dantoni will not use him to the best of his ability.Afflalo would be a nice fit on our team because he plays defense and knows his role, and Turk has experience playing with D12,and we can use him as our pf to spread the floor for Dwight.

Hedo playing with Dwight shouldnt be a factor on why you do the trade. Its a terrible reason. Hedo has nothing left in his tank. And i'm sure Lakers kmow it too.

Afflalo's defense has dropped, based on the advance stats.

I would do that Gasol trade being Moore is more of a SG that plays decent defense and could fill the gap Afflalo would leave even though he has grown on me. Hedo would make for a nice passer in LA to free up Kobe and find Dwight down low. That would be deadly even though I hate helping the Lakers. Magic would even give you back McBob.

Here is Redick’s quote on his status with the Magic and what he expects:
“First of all, I don’t think that I’m eligible to get an extension right now because I’m on a 3-year deal, so in terms of re-signing and locking up now, that’s not a possibility, so there’s hasn’t been talk there. Rob (Hennigan) and I talked back in August and Rob knows my agent (Arn Tellum) fairly well so I don’t think I’ll be blindsided by any trade. The trade story that came out the other day that was on HOOPSHYPE was more of a non-story than anything else, so I wasn’t too frazzled by that or anything. Chelsea (J.J.’s wife) and I have obviously had a lot of discussions over the past few months and we would love to be in Orlando. I don’t know what’s going to happen at the trade deadline. The Magic have to do what’s best for the organization and if I am here post-deadline and I finish the season here, they have to make the decision about what’s best for the future of the franchise, but I’d like to be a part of that. I think that I fit in with the culture and what they’re trying to build. I’m about winning and about improving and getting better every day and as they move forward toward the future I think I’ll be a great fit here.”

no thanks. Meeks isnt a starter in the league and cant defend. Gasol is going downhill fast and a big expiring is not as attractive and easy to trade as you think it is. If it was, you would be able to easily trade him yourself.

Excellent news about @iambigbaby11 Shoulder sprain, take care of that thing and come on back soon big fella!!

And as for the Rudy Gay trade if that were to happen, GM of the year would go to Henny no question, highly doubtful in my opinion.
