With this, I think Jeffries definitely makes the roster and depending on what happens with Markelle Fultz, I can see them signing a combo guard who can provide some depth.

They might keep the spot open or on make good for a good chunk of the year though so they have some flexibility.

If Fultz is healthy, they won't have to make any decisions now.

Plus VC was always a consummate professional. Otis really needed to play the line-up-the-ducks for a FA game instead, but honestly, with how D12 tapered out after injuries even that is becoming all a moot point too.

I wasn’t aware people considered Vince a bust here. He wasn’t Hedo, and Stan clearly missed Hedo’s playmaking skill, but Vince did bring scoring.

We needed him to be the Nets Vince Carter but it seems as soon as he got here, he began his decline.

It didn't help that Shard began a slide that year as well. If Shard had played to the previous years level, that 09-10 team may have been the best Magic team of all-time. Despite this they had a great year, especially after the all-star break where I believe they lost only 1 game or maybe 2 until the playoffs. It was an amazing run until they ran into the much hungrier, and ready for revenge Celtics in the ECF. I will never forget Rondo chasing down loose ball from well behind Jason Williams.

On a side note, I remember an interview with Dwight right after VC was signed in the summer. Dwight made fun of Vince calling him "half man, half retired" which was a direct pun of "half man, half amazing." Ironic that Dwight is now the same age Vince was when he signed with the Magic, and being on a one year deal, Dwight's stint in the league has legitimate potential to end at the same time VC's does.

Shams worded his original tweet poorly and made it more confusing than it needed to be.

Essentially the Magic and Okeke mutually agreed to not sign Okeke this for season.

He'll spend the season rehabbing, and likely spend some time in the second half of the year down in Lakeland playing for them.

The Magic will be signing Okeke to a standard four year rookie scale contract in the summer of 2020.

99. Evan Fournier

Orlando Magic | G

Previous rank: 99

Projected RPM wins: 2.7

Brian Windhorst on Fournier's summer: Here is the kind of guy Fournier is. As soon as he got his bronze medal with France in the FIBA World Cup, he gave it away, saying he already had one from 2014 at home. Then he criticized American friends, such as former Magic teammate Tobias Harris, for not coming to play. Fournier played with the same fearless attitude throughout the tournament. He battered Team USA, and even though he didn't shoot great down the stretch, he finished at 41% from 3-point range and averaged 19.8 points in the event. Still unclear: Whether he gave away the watch he got for making the all-tournament team.

OK, just clicked on a "Top Defenders at each position" article on Bleacher Report...they listed top 5. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of Isaac or maybe Gordon but nope...Nikola Vucevic checks in at #3 after Gobert and Myles Turner...your thoughts?

Do we know that this is true? Can't the Magic just renounce his rights instead of offering him a contract next summer?

Knew someone was going to comment on that.

Going to take that list with a huge grain of salt considering Drummond, Adams, Gasol (aka Vuc’s nightmare), and Embiid aren’t even on the list. I’m also wondering where Vuc’s defense stats (effort) are next season after he’s been paid.
