I imagine that Houston wanted picks back as well and that’s just a non-starter considering Westbrook’s age and contract situation.

I do appreciate them at least being active in terms of pursuing future long-term options at guard for this team. We just haven’t seen enough from Fultz to put any eggs whatsoever into that basket.

They still need to make a move for a 3 though. We can’t go into the season with this rotation.

Not sure how that would work between Westbrook, Fultz and Cole... but it would be interesting... and expensive. Westbrook is owed $130 mil over the next 3 seasons.

Probably true with JJ...but I’d take a long look

Acquiring Westbrook would for sure mean the end of Fultz IMO.

Shot out of a cannon: Gordon + Fultz + Fournier for Westbrook + House works financially.

G: Westbrook, Anthony
G: Ross, (resign MCW?)
F: House, FA signing (Holiday?)
F: Okeke, Aminu, Clark
C: Vucevic, Bamba, Birch

I guess the magic would know better as they can keep a close eye on Fultz but there is no way I give up Fultz for Westbrook unless I'm sure that 3pt shot is never coming back.

For better or worse, any team acquiring Westbrook is doing so under the guise he's going to have the ball in his hands every single possession and ultimately end up being a 34+ USG% player.

There's just no room for Fultz in that situation. He makes too much money to be a 15 MPG backup and he simply doesn't shoot well enough to see any sort of significant minutes at the 2 off the ball.

Yeah and there is just no room for improvement with his massive contract too. My goal would be to have him mentor Fultz and Cole... then trade him when he's an expiring. Even that is a very hard sell for me to accept. That contract is a franchise killer.

I've decided to be a good samaritan and help out GS this year. Out of the kindness of my heart, I will trade Al-Farouq Aminu, Evan Fournier, and Cole Anthony's draft rights for Klay Thompson.

You're welcome, GS.

HELLLLLLLL NO...

Klay is coming off an acl injury, just now tore his achilles and is owed ~$160 million over the next 4 years. You have to be prepared to tank for the next half decade at the very least if it doesn't work out.

If fultz is gone, he could still be a positive mentor for cole. I recall oladipo crediting seeing/following westbrooks work ethic for his success in indy.

I wonder if that Klay Thompson injury makes it any easier for the Magic to sign Isaac to a team-friendly extension this offseason. If we return to a normal schedule, and the free agent period starts at the beginning of July next summer, Isaac definitely ain't going to be showing off his knee in the gym before free agency.

During 2013 and Kobe injury i got really deep into reading about this potentially career ending injuries and all ortopedic sugeons kept repeating same thing: most people after injury of one leg end up with injury on other, previously healthy leg.

And now i saw Klay had ACL on one leg, achillie tear on other...

I wish Isaac nothing but best, like any athlete who puts his body on the line, but man, he really has injury issues from start of his career. Team frinedly deal with some 4th year team's option would be perfect. Ofc if you are Isaac you want to cash in right away.

It’s probably have to be Fultz, Bamba, Isaac, Fournier and next years unprotected 1st for Harden and D. House

Hurts to lose Our young star potential guys but we’d get a no doubt superstar scorer and still have enough talent to be a contender !

Split the MLE between DJ and Ennis and grab a vet min guy or two with Championship experience to mentor these guys and compete for a top 3 seed in the East !

Cole-DJ-MCW
Harden-Ross
Ennis-House-Aminu
AG-Okeke-Clark
Vuc-Birch

Do Rockets say no ?

Do the Magic say no ?

Could this team compete for a finals appearance ?
