Seriously, so many names I haven't seen in a while. The draft really got all of us out of hiding huh?
I have to make my annual post to remain a retiree in good standing.

I’ll be up for this one too. I have no clue who we should be drafting but I thrust Weham. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see a minor move.

At first I was laughing... then I got sad cuz it's true.lol

I also was MIA a lot after the D12-era. Work, relocation, growing up and etc... think I got back when we had our rebuild.

Now if only the old characters aka legendary posters theThief, NEM aka fedex printer and even kunta kite posts here again.

Lol, well to me it’s not entirely true. First and foremost the Magic somehow are my greatest passion. I always find ways to get entertained or get my hopes back up or whatever. Even if we never become champs I will always stick to my team.

I’m liking the direction we’re headed. But also wouldn’t mind making some moves. Today will be another exciting step in the rebuild!

Well ever since Franz and Sugga became Magicians, my fandom shot up back to the heart and hustle days. With Paolo, its an all time high. And yup, i do like the direction we are heading as well. Just hope we don't do shortcuts this time.

So, do any of you have prospects that we could realistically pick at 6 and 11 that you absolutely love for us? I was just thinking about it, and sure there's guys that I like more and guys that I like less for us, but none of the prospects have me head over heels just hoping all night that we end up picking them (trade up for Scoot aside).

Suggs with the stop, Black with the pass, Dick to the hole.

I just cannot see us drafting Black. He might be a nice player, but unless you are convinced he’s an all star we’d be better of drafting someone that fit this roster better.

I’m screaming Jordan Hawkins as I think he fits what we need perfectly. A threat without the ball in his hand three point specialist. The way he utilizes screens and runs all over the floor without the ball in his hand could cause havoc ( think of an older Ray Allen ) and defensive switches and or mismatches. He would help take eyes off Paolo and Franz and pull defenses out of the paint opening it up for Paolo. The ability to be a threat without the ball in hand is a huge help and honestly can’t think of the last time we had that ( JJ Redick ? ) .

There are no perfect fits other than Lively at the backup center. I have to agree with Knightro about a trade that is probably needed.

Also I think people are overvaluing the shooting prospects because of our lack of it. Us not having it just means we need to address it somehow - FA, trade, etc - doesn't mean doubling down on it or valuing it at the risk of everything else being bad in a prospect. I damn sure am not depending on a rookie's shooting to save us, although it's what I could want in the future, which is why I want one with a shooting skill and the other just the BPA with an avenue to play.

I'll come out of the woodwork too, why not.

Likes (in order, not including Vic, Scoot, or Miller, even though I'm not actually super high on Miller): Amen Thompson, Taylor Hendricks, Gradey Dick, Jordan Hawkins, Kobe Bufkin

Dislikes: Cam Whitmore, Jarace Walker (role player ceiling IMO), Dereck Lively

Neutral or just flat out can't decide: Ausar Thompson, Anthony Black, Bilal Coulibaly

Note: I acknowledge that Dick aspires to be a role player too, but he's a guy that's in play at 11, whereas Walker would seemingly have to be taken at 6. So that impacts the evaluation.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I love jarace, but not as much as ausar

Jarace is a perfect role player, I've said multiple times he's Draymond green but more athletic....just not sure where or how you play him next to Paolo and Franz

If he's there at 11 it's a no brainier, but it's a tough one at 6

My thoughts as well. I’d actually be ok with Jarace. Still hoping for Ausar.

Yeah, 100%. I was just thinking this earlier. PRR drones on and on about his goal for the draft being shooting and I'm here thinking... something feels off with that goal. Lots of mechanisms to fill needs, the lottery is one of the best ones for getting rising stars. Not shooters. Not rim protectors. In other words not role players. Take the bite from the apple!
