Most baffling to @Orlando_Magic: D12's indecision. He's said to have changed mind 4 times in last 4 days about staying/leaving. Still hope?

who's tweet is that? Is that an NBA source or a fan asking about Dwight?

You'd have to ask arkknight, but I think it's just a fan who has only just realised that Fegan has permission to talk to L.A.

Stern is brokering this deal himself.
Woj is the new Bucher. Shams is the new Woj. Espn is the new TMZ. The NBA is the new WWE.
Boo.

I like what I am reading. He's conflicted, which means the right roster moves could convince him to stay.

I actually like this tweet from Denton:
@JohnDenton555 John Denton
If the Magic do get to the point where they have to trade Howard I'm hearing a deal for Bynum AND P.Gasol tops list. Turk also included.

Yes, I know what happened with Shaq & I know we don't want the same to happen. BUT look at it this way:

We ask for Bynum AND Gasol => Lakers only have one left cause CP3 deal => No deal
OR
No CP3 for LA but we end up with Gasol AND Bynum. Gasol and or Bynum can still get you another All-star, or .. A very high draft pick.
- If Jordan accepts the warriors offer, CLippers need a C => we could trade one of them to the Clippers for that minny pick. Then we'd have a Gasol or Bynum (both still elite big men) + a very high pick.
- We could trade both of them for 2 high picks
- We could trade one of them for Ellis, Iggy or Rudy Gay

Look, I know we hate that Dwight could possibly be going to the Lakers. I hate it too. But I'm also thinking, we're Magic fans, not Laker fans, we have to think about OUR team in the first place. I know not everyone's gonna like these ideas, but if Dwight really wants out, we have to focus on the future of this team and how we can get the best package.

Again, as much as I hate the Lakers and as much as I hate him possibly going to the Lakers. If they offer Bynum AND Gasol + take back Hedo, that's really one of the best deals available that doesn't include another superstar

This is just an idea & not gonna happen cause they'll do the CP3 deal. Of course I'd prefer him to stay, but you gotta think about what could happen if he demands a trade ..

Of course they will, cause that "Youg Talent" will be coming to the Magic for Dwight. The league is a bussiness and its goal is to make money. So why would'nt David Stern find some way to make Dwight end up on the Lakers. The NBA is a joke. If Chirs Paul, kobe and Dwight end up on the lakers I'm done with the NBA. I'm not going to jump the gun yet but if it does happen I'm done with them.

Even if they tore their roster down to their two superstars, they would still be paying Kobe $28m and would have a caphold against Paul of $21m, leaving them $10m to offer Dwight. Not going to get it done.

They just amnesty Artest, renegotiate Kobe down to 30-40% less (it's a new CBA rule but itd be nice to confirm it applies to Kobe for sure) and that's 10mil cap space. Then you re-extend Fisher to a lower first year and save another 1-2mil, and try to get creative using insurance waiving on Walton or trading off Blake for mostly cap space and you have about max space.
Again, you gotta remember you're looking at a cp3/kobe/dwight lakers team here. this goes beyond caring who is around them at this point. And the LA market/ESPN/media frenzy would basically equal or beat the hype and endorsements from the Miami Heat for Dwight.

Itll be interesting to see if Otis still trades for Bynum without Gasol now. Gasol/Bynum was his top trade package apparently... Since Bynum is probably the most appealing of that duo despite his injuries and the fact Otis doesn't seem to care how Magic fans would feel (with a la trade and immature center again who may likely be continue to be injury prone now too), I think theres still a great chance it'll be just Bynum for Dwight, with the Magic finding a way to pawn off Turk or get something a little extra maybe. It's really dissapointing that Otis wants Bynum. I don't think he understands how many fans will be lost. I'll always stay a Magic fan, go to some games this year and support them, but this will be the worst team in history to feel happy with. Bynum looks like a disaster waiting to happen. No one in Orlando likes him, he is immature and when he misses his avg of 38% of games this season, it will be like Grant Hill era bad but even worse because it was a trade, not a signing. Then we're gonna get stuck having to pay max to Bynum or trying to flip him for assets a season later when he was basically all we got for Dwight in the first place, and realize we could've atleast done better trading with NJ or BOS or LAC. There will still be 2-4 teams Dwight will extend with or that will take Dwight without extension anyways.
After that, whether it was Bynum or another trade, we just got to hope Otis gets fired and the new GM is someone who is hella amazing like Pritchard or someone like that. I would try to first focus on the front office now stopping the trade to lal and trying a different team, then make the gm transition.

I am 99% sure the renegotiation rule only applies to contracts inked after the new CBA came into place.

Yep. Kobe and Paul = 50 million in salary and the NBA cap right now is 58 million, said to possibly go up to 60 million next season. That leaves the Lakers with 10 million to give Howard.

Again, Howard isn't taking 10+ million less a year to go to the Lakers and any one who believes that need to GTFO out of this discussion because you are obviously on crack.
