That team had:
superstar- former MVP
DPOY
allstar
6th man of a year

Sounds like s** loud of talent to me.

Did they have more talent than Heat? No. But Heat was lead by Lebron who flat out choked in that series, averaging 2,2 ppg in 4th quaters.

Kidd was old at the time. Marion was on the down swing and 12 ppg 7 rpg at 32.

vs LeBron, Wade, Bosh. with role players of Mike Miller, Chalmers, Haslem, Stackhouse, Biz Z, Mike bibby.

Stackhouse didn't play single min in playoffs, Bibby was washed up and retired after. Miller that year played least amount of games due injury, averaged least amount of points and had worst FG% of his career.
Kidd was older than them, but way better player at that stage.

If you look at amount of allstar players who did play, Dallas actualy had more allstars in playoffs ( i think 5 vs Heat 4 )

No, they only had better top tear talent. Rest of roster aside from top 3 players was garbage,

Chalmers- starter, left NBA shortly after.
Joel Anthony - averaged 2,2 ppg for career, started for them
Bibby- retired year after
Illgaluaskas- retired that year
Mike MIller- shell of former self
Haslem- played 13 games that year
Juwan Howard -played only 35 games after that series, retired two years later ( was 37 at times )
Eddie House -retired that year

Great top tear talent, rest of a roster was nursery home.

You still cherry pick single series to make a point.
In same series Lebron played well below his capability, averaging less ppg than Jason Terry.
And one of reasons why they lost, aside of Lebron's poor plays is fact that Joel Anthony was regular rotation player ( 6th most min played ) and averaged ONE POINT THREE POINTS A GAME.
Mike Miller - 3,5 ppg
Mike Bibby 3,8 ppg
Juwan Howard - 1,8 ppg

In mean time 7 different Dallas players averaged at least 7 ppg ( and 4 Heat players).

Also Dirk was flat out the best player on the planet in that playoffs. They beat solid Blazers team, swept defending champions Lakers, whooped floor with OKC with Durant, Wess and Harden and let's not act like NBA finals was some thriller. Game 5 they won by 9 points, game 6 they won by 10.

really? So Dallas was had more talent than Miami when they won their title?

Yes, teams like Dallas and Det (even Det had 4 all-stars) won titles with a lack of talent; however, almost every other team that have won had 2,3,or 4 hall of famers. So yes, talent is the only thing that really matters in the NBA. The NBA, probably more than another sport, is where having or not having superstars can make or break you. Silver even eluded to this awhile back.

It was just such a silly rabbit hole to go down to begin with. I don't know why this conversation is happening. What the hell did that Dallas team have to do with this Orlando team? Dallas won 57 games and had two Hall of Famers leading the way.

Miami used every resource they had to get Wade, LeBron, and Bosh together. They didn't have to means to build a team around them that summer so they signed every petrified turd that hit the market.

you are pointing to a series. I am pointing that Miami had more talent. that talent may have been in only 3 players, but they had more talent than Dallas, and lost

i agre with Nav, if they were better, they would have won, they did not. So it's clear who was better team that year.

there have been plenty of times that the more talented team did not win, in every sport. Whether it was one specific matchup, coaching, etc.
