Ok I watched some highlights.. the rookie PG Nix looked like one of those semi-retired past his prime NBA vets in terms of his body. Are we sure he is just a rookie? OR is he going to the way of BBD, PJ Tucker, Felton and etc?

Ive been hearing Kuminga has been impressive. If so, good news.. even if we pick lower, one of Suggs, Cade and Green will be there because of it.
These guys have been on scout radars for years. Common fans are seeing them for the first time.
There is a reason Kuminga is #2 on a lot of top mocks and universally top 5.
Kuminga has been impressive I admit. Also, when he stands among NBA players, he seems slimmer/smaller than he does. However, his style of play is still bully-ball. If he can continue to do that in the league then he probably will compete for the #1 pick.
Green looks skinny but his air-time.. wow I dunno if it's Vince like but he just flies. He needs a better showing though like scoring more and not get locked-up by Nico to be in the top-5 consideration.
The other guys I was curious about, Sotto and Nix. Sotto is in FIBA play? Nix is.. woah dude how old are you again? Is Z-Bo your personal trainer or something? But nice PG skills

Since I know we are gonna win a bunch of meaningless games at the end when other teams are purposely tanking, I've accepted we will be drafting 6-8th range
So, I can't say I've watched him, but I watched highlights of Moody and boy does he seems like a nice prospect. Again it's a highlight video, everyone looks great on those (hence the reason they exist lol), but has anyone watched him play, have insight on him?

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Kuminga's jumper was really flat today, but it didn't look broken.
He has a nice frame, he's physical and he seems to have a good feel for the game. He definitely looked like a wing to me.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Kuminga is definitely a wing, it's kinda crazy to look at him and realize he's 18 years old doing this and he's outplaying grown men....Feel for the game is something you can't teach and if you saw his reads today you should be optimistic about his basketball IQ, he made great passes for the most part, he had a few turnovers trying to squeeze passes into windows that wasn't there but you saw what he was trying to do....He competes on the defense end so with kuminga there is some real 3 level 2way potential, all i need to see now is consistency....

I think on the right team, Kuminga could absolutely develop into a phenomenal Point Guard.

Kuminga will probably grow to 6'9 and be fine PF/SF , but more of PF
i like him as player, i just find his fit with Isaac, Gordon,Okeke flat out horrific.

Not sure about that. He has a bad a/to and few assist numbers at all.

Kuminga is not a PG by any conceivable stretch of the imagination.
He's a big 3 or small 4 with some feel as a passer.

Kuminga is making a case to be the number one overall pick. Plus he's only 18.5 years old.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
So... anyone else saw the game Ignite vs OKC?
1st : OKC draft pick looks stick thin. I mean the draft was months ago but that dude still hasnt gained weight? Poku right?
2nd: High school, Kuminga looked like a beast but in the GLeague I dont think his size could even be considered for a traditional PF. Looks like a SF for me. But more importantly, the guy is good but I dont see any face-up game from him. Its usually back to the basket. Hopefully next games I can see him trying to leave defenders in the dust.
3rd: Green got over that bad 1st game. Dude can score. Again i might need my eyes check but he doesn't look like 6'6. Probably his shorts (lol joke). If he fills out properly then yeah.. didn't see much outside shooting from him though.. most of his success were drives and oops.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Green and Kuminga are both very good. Just based on the two G-League games, I think they are both absolutely top 5 talents.
They're quite different though.
Green is much more of a high flying scorer. Great speed. Great leaping ability. A smoother looking jump shot even though it hasn't been falling that well from three. Haven't seen a lot of playmaking for others or defense from Green just yet. He needs to fill out and stronger, but he'll step into the league as a plus athlete on the wing right away.
Kuminga is just fantastic. His footwork for an 18 year old is really good. The guy has a bunch of tricks in his bag - spin moves, ball fakes, up and unders, reverse pivots - you name it and he can do it already. My favorite thing about Kuminga is that whether he's working in the post or driving to the rim, he always has his head up and is capable and willing to make the pass.
His jumper is definitely too slow and too flat right now, but it isn't broken and should improve quite a bit with coaching.
I would be very happy with either guy.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
True.. also a plus side.. Green's flight/jump ability isnt limited as some said like AG and Cole, wherein they are a two-feet jumper. Green can soar using one foot only???
I wanna see if Kuminga can break somoen off the dribble though. If he plays wing ib this league, he needs that .

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Nothing impressive with Green at all.
Tunnell vision, most scoring comes from fact he is built stronger and nobody has center.
He is guard with 60 min played and two assists, most of the time he doesn't even think about passing. As one-dimensional as it gets.
Also nothing impressive as shooter so far. Long 2s, allyoops in transition.
But G league will be ultimate cheat mode for this kids, level of competition is beyond pathetic. Guys who can't sniff near nba rotation are 20 ppg scorers there. Luka Samanic for Spurs couldn't beat Drew Eubanks for roster spot but in G league he is over 2 games 21 ppg, 13,5 rpg, 3 assist guy. You would thought he is next Jokic by looking his g league performance.

Not sure he's a great fit for the Magic as presently constructed, but Alperen Şengün is a guy I'm really intrigued by. He's putting up some really eye popping numbers at a young age in the Turkish League.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Luka Garza averaging 25 ppg. Listened to someone in the radio who thought he'd be a sure fire star. Maybe we could take a chance on him instead of selling our pick. He's like a bigger stronger Birch with Vucevic's offensive game. He's a late bloomer that's grown 3 inches since being at Iowa.
