What's the vibe around Dariq Whitehead? Ranked low because of an injury-filled season but coming out of high school, ranked top-5. Can shoot, defend, pass, high IQ, good size, but slow start and just couldn't ever find his footing.

Can be 3&D with the potential to do more on offense. If he is drafted by us, it allows us to not rush him back from his latest surgery and figure out some things with other guys while bringing him along slowly. Played at Montverde with other nba guys.

Whitehead might be the best 2 in the draft...Supposedly, injuries hampered his time at Duke and he played through them...his skill set and HS projections were as high as anyone in the draft not from France. His workouts will determine a lot....If he's 100%, he could easily be Top 10, especially with Dick looking mortal at the combine. If his shot matches Gradey's and his size, athleticism, and defensive potential exceed his...he's ahead of Hawkins and Dick, who are the sharpshooting 2's this year.

Lively is also very interesting...if workouts/physicals work out - I'd be good with another couple of Duke guys coming in. I like WCJ a lot, but I'd prefer him backing up 4 and 5, getting significant minutes off the bench, but I'd prefer a defensive stopper/rim-runner at C, next to Paolo and Franz...Maybe we could trade back or maybe they both jump up as workouts reveal more about everyone.

Dariq Whitehead might be the high upside 2 guard I really wanted to find. He can play the two or three which are both needs for us. Great size with plus wingspan and looks to be a great athlete. If we keep both picks I want to go high upside with one and he looks like a great choice because of his excellent C/S numbers with potential as a scorer.

He just had surgery again, to repair theb1st surgery he had....on his foot. Definitely a gamble. He won't be doing workouts so all teams have are his HS film and Duke games.

He just fits what this FO values; versatility, size, high IQ, great character, good defender, smart & willing passer, aaaaand to satisfy everyone here, he's potentially a better shooter than Dick. Not to forget, he was highly ranked coming into this past season.

At minimum, he's a 3 & D player, who replaces Gary in a year. But if he pops and regains health & confidence, he can be a really nice scorer for us.

IDK man, I'm starting to gravitate towards taking Whitehead with #11 (maybe trade back?). Take Hendricks 6th and Dariq 11th. 2 solid rotational players early in their careers, with plenty of room to grow.

What about Nick Smith, Jr as our high-scoring combo guard of the future? Is he Jamal Murray or Bouknight?

My take: I love his profile, but scrawny guys with big knee braces scare me. My understanding is that he was never super athletic, more shifty like SGA-which is much more sustainable long-term. What do you think? He's kind of disappeared from the discussions.

Kinda funny that there are these two in these conversations. I had a thought of trading down the 11th pick for the 2 back to back pick of Brooklyn at the early 20s. In that sense being able to pick up whitehead and lively .(if available) would be amazing. Whitehead can have the season off to heal..... And lively would give us an amazing defensive big off the bench.

I'm actually ok with a youth movement still on this team. The guys are mature and driven ... Players like fultz and Carter are young... But show leadership qualities already. There will be a point where consolidation of talents will be needed... But that's a great problem to have. Lol... The 2nd rounder.... Can be traded for a future pick if needed... Or a draft and stash.

So yeah ... Coming out of this draft with Ausar/whitmore/walker/Hendricks with the 6th.... And whitehead and lively would be an amazing draft to me. Depth and talent would be our calling card next season.

Remember that one offseason, when the coach or FO said Khem Birch was working on his outside shot and made like 20 in a row during camp. He did make 4 out of 21 3s that year in games before we moved him.

Miller is a top 10 pick by the time the draft happens.

I know he played in G-league but i didn't follow him much.
I will watch some videos to make me an opinion.
