In this tournament... it's only Giannis ahead of Franz in terms of being unstoppable when going downhill.

Lauri might make a case though...but need more evidence.

I'm quite happy with TDS's play... looking more confident out there and he could use some of that in the NBA. He should have been a better shooter than he showed last year.

I said Fiba would be good for him, but even i didn't expect him to be playing as much as he is.....usually got to pay dues but maybe he showed the coaches something....either way he's been good in his role, and hopefully he brings that momentum back to the O

I know you have to consider the competition but that is still an insane stat line.

Through 4 games...

Franz: 23.2 MPG, 21.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.8 APG, 1.8 SPG, 29/52 FG, 55.8% FG, 23/40 2PT, 57.5% 2PT, 6/12 3PT, 50.0% 3PT, 21/28 FT, 75.0% FT, +78

TDS: 19.9 MPG, 10.3 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 0.8 APG, 1.0 SPG, 1.0 BPG, 15/27 FG, 55.6% FG, 9/13 2PT, 69.2% 2PT, 6/14 3PT, 42.9% 3PT, 5/6 FT, 83.3% FT, +89

They play Lauri Markkanen and Finland tomorrow at 01:30 PM ET.

The game is in Finland, so I'd expect a raucous crowd and atmosphere.

“Man, it’s gon’ be amazing. Paolo [Banchero] and Franz [Wagner] and them, they coming into their own right now. They’re at the right age where they still young, but they young enough to dare to be great. And I believe Paolo and Franz gon’ be great, but Desmond Bane, Jalen Suggs, Anthony Black, we got Tyus Jones now. We got so many great players that’s great in their own right, and I feel like right now they all are ready to make their mark. So, I’m just happy and honored to be a part of it. And Jamahl Mosley, of course: I knew him forever. I knew him when we both was teenagers cuz when I was a freshman at Providence, he visited Providence. So, that’s even full circle. From me and him then to me and him coaching at Dallas together, he just got such a great passion and all about the work. You know what I’m saying? There’s not too many people I could say that’s all about the work. Forget all the accolades. Forget all that stuff. He’s all about the work and all about winning and all about pouring into the kids, and I think that’s what me and him share in common the most.

“Like when I work with players and stuff like that, I always tell ‘em cuz I laugh, I’m like, ‘I’ll probably be one of the few people in your life that’s not here for anything. I’m actually here to give you something. You know what I’m saying? Because whether I work with a player or don’t work with a player, I’mma be Shammgod regardless. That’s already done. So, I’m not here to clout chase. I’m not here to do this. I’m not here to do that. I’m only here for the work, so I’m actually here to give you something.’ And I think that’s why players relate to me the most because they know I come from a pure heart and I just want to see them win. I just want to see them get better and I want to see them win. And I think that’s why I’ve always had good relationships whether it’s Mark Cuban and the organization cuz they know it’s never about me, it’s about the organization because I feel if we win, then we all win. I don’t have to be the greatest person, I want to be a part of things that are great. I don’t have to be the one in the forefront to be like, ‘Oh, look what I did. Look what I did.’ I always wanted to be a part of something that’s bigger than me. And right now me going to the Orlando Magic, I feel that’s where I’m at: it’s such amazing people. Jeff Weltman and all the people from Orlando, they just been so great to me and I just think that’s where I’m at right now in life. I think God gave me a perfect opportunity with a young team that we all can grow together and do something special.”

Shammgod is gonna be a great addition to this team's future.

I mean one can hope. It would get rid of his offensive limitation and skyrocket him back to a cheap bargain.

Great Britain finally found a team worse than them to get their first win in 12 years in a major FIBA tournament.

Franz with 15 points (6/8) at the half. 1/1 on 3s. Nothing but net of the dribble 3

I am having giddy thoughts about Year 5 Franz.

The dude just put up a 24-6-5 season on reasonable efficiency and it feels like there's still a ton of meat on the bone improvement wise.

I don't know what mose and prunty might be cooking up but we have to take advantage of getting Franz moving in transition going downhill, damn near unstoppable..... Paolo as well but for different reasons, Franz is more finesse and Paolo is more power.... Bane is also really good in transition as well.... We got to play with more pace this upcoming season

Same. But to keep myself calm im tempering expectations cuz this tourney doesnt have players with the height and ahleticism of the NBA to properly guard a unicorn like Franz.

Franz is just too strong , too quick or too tall for 99% of his defenders...
