TDS was very good. He had a tough game the other night and people wanted him benched, ummm no he has been our best backup.
It's debatable between him and AB as the best backup.

Umm...yes, I still stand on benching him that night. His effort was disgusting. Standing around doing nothing. Slow getting back on defense, slow to put a body on someone for a rebound (actually, he really doesn't even do that), slow and useless on help defense. I guess slow in general. This is my biggest pet peeve and I have zero tolerance for that bs regardless of how good you are.

His offense is good enough as long as he is at least giving effort on both sides. But as I have said before, playing hard matters to me, we are too deep to be lackadaisical out there on the court. TDS, Paolo and Wcj, are usually the biggest culprits of this, crippling our defense.

Heck, JI was doing it as well lately, and yesterday finally gave the effort we are used to from him and look at the difference. That effort is enough to play him even if he has no offensive game to him.

Good win which we badly needed. Nice to see good games from all starters except Bane and JI and Tyus showing positive signs off the bench.

SOUL wrote:Bane needs to play better himself too though. He's getting open opportunities and missing it. I like how he started playing on ball in the second half and making plays, but if AB can hit open threes now, Bane is gonna have to do it too lol.

He seems oddly reluctant to shoot 3s, I don't recall him ever being so hesitant with his long ball when I watched him for the Grizzlies. In the last 3 games he has attempted a total of 3 threes off the dribble and at least 1 of these, maybe 2, was forced on him by the shot clock about to expire. Even after he was getting blocked left, right and centre against Detroit when he drove inside he still didn't try to shoot 3s off the dribble.

Black did things, Isaac did things. Defense slightly better. Hornets and all, but still.

I think AB is way more valuable to the team.

Boxscore thoughts:

Orlando won the FG% battle and won the game.

The Magic also won the FGA and FTA battle.

The Magic was a magnificent -8 in TO-differential.

I just don't understand what mose is doing with his rotations, he keeps putting Paolo with 2 bigs (goga+ penda or others)
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, TDS , Jett
Franz, TDS, Panda
P5, JI, Panda, Moe
Wcj, Goga, Moe

What is that Penda guy supposed to be good at it? So far in the limited minutes Ive seen from him the only thing Ive noticed from him is looking like a sieve on defense.

He's versatile on defense and can guard up or down the lineup with energy. You'll notice this looking at how well he moves his feet and stays in front of his man. On offense his handle and passing are good for his size and he has high IQ.

Noah Penda is going to stay in the rotation. His ability to defend multiple positions makes mosley salivate. His offensive touch and opportunities will come in time. He will find time on the floor.....its Mosley. Same reason AB plays so much. Mosley doesnt give a damn if you can score just as long as you try on defense. Which is a flawed tactic but it is what it is.

If the opposite approach is current Tyus, I can't blame him lol. Ideally we have both.

Moe Isaac just fits well assuming last night’s Isaac is here to stay. I do think missing Moe is a bigger issue than people want to acknowledge.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.
